The impact of renal transplantation (RT) in the elderly with many comorbid conditions is a matter concern. aim our study was to assess RT on survival patients older than 60 years compared those remaining waiting list (WL) according their comorbidities.
Kidney transplant (KT) is the treatment of choice for chronic kidney disease. KT from a living donor an excellent alternative because it offers better results in terms morbidity and mortality compared to deceased or continuing on dialysis. Although nephrectomy low risk, over time, arterial hypertension, microalbuminuria drop glomerular filtration rate may develop. The evaluation potential involves exhaustive standardized study with objective assessing renal function anatomy, ruling out...
The age for kidney transplantation (KT) is no longer a limitation and several studies have shown benefits in the survival of elderly patients. aim this study was to examine relationship baseline Charlson comorbidity index (CCI) score morbidity mortality after transplantation. In multicentric observational retrospective cohort study, we included patients older than 60 years admitted on waiting list (WL) deceased donor KT from January 01, 2006, December 31, 2016. CCI calculated each patient at...

Objetives 1- To present the prevalence of Post-Transplant calcific uremic arteriolopathy (calciphylaxis) in Renal Transplant Unit, C.R.A.I. Sur, H.I.G.A. Gral. San Martin, La Plata, Argentina. 2- suggest treatment with topical sodium thiosulfate as an effective therapeutic option. Materials and Methods During period from 1996 to 2017, 811 kidney transplants were performed our unit, three patients presenting a diagnosis calciphylaxis, confirmed by histopathological analysis. We evaluated...
Introduction Since the constant increase in frequency of V stage chronic renal failure and due to limited availability cadaveric organs, living donor it’s considered as a viable solution. However, there are many causes that caution against donor. MaterialsandMethods All donors who presented themselves voluntarily our service get tested kidney between 1st April 2016 October 31th, were considered. There analyzed all reasons exclusion for donation. Results An overall 276 subjects unity, 186...
Introduction The alteration in carbohydrates metabolism is frequently observed after kidney transplantation. New onset diabetes transplant (NODAT) has been extensively studied, although there are no reports of the characteristics and frequency impaired fasting glucose (IFG). Materials Methods We evaluated all patients who had undergone our unit last fifteen years with more than one year follow-up. considered that a patient when he met criteria ADA and/or WHO, presented less 20 mg...
