A method combining immunomagnetic separation (IMS) and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) was developed to enumerate Escherichia coli (E. coli). Gold-coated magnetic spherical nanoparticles were prepared by immobilizing biotin-labeled anti-E. coliantibodies onto avidin-coated used in the concentration of E. colicells. labels have been constructed using rod shaped gold coated with 5,5-dithiobis-(2-nitrobenzoic acid) (DTNB) subsequently a molecular recognizer. Then DTNB-labeled nanorods...

In this study, direct quantification of ethanol and methanol in distilled alcoholic beverages using Raman spectroscopy was performed. spectra varying ethanol–methanol mixtures were obtained, baseline corrections made, the data normalized scattering intensity an internal standard (acetonitrile, 921 cm –1 ). Then, calibration graphs produced for concentrations ranges 0–7 M 0–10 M, respectively. Accurate R 2 values proved notable linear correlations (0.998 0.998 methanol). The method validated...

In this report, we present a new homogeneous detection method for staphylococcal enterotoxin B (SEB) utilizing core-shell-structured iron-gold magnetic nanoparticles and gold nanorod surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) probe in solution. Peptide ligand (aptamer) functionalized particles were used as scavengers target SEB. After the SEB molecules separated from matrix, sandwich assay procedure was tested by that act SERS probes. The binding constant between peptide-nanoparticle complex...
