Abstract Aim This study intends to improve our understanding of historical biogeography olive domestication in the Mediterranean Basin, particularly north‐western area. Location Investigations were performed simultaneously on stones from extant wild populations, cultivated varieties various countries, and archaeological assemblages Spanish, French Italian settlements. Methods A combination morphometrics (traditional geometrical) allowed us both size shape endocarp structure. Concerning...

A 1 200 km-long linear magmatic belt extends along the Mediterranean coast of Maghreb from Eastern Tunisia to Morocco. This is mainly composed Langhian calc-alkaline metaluminous peraluminous granitoids and associated andesites/dacites in Central Algeria. In Oranie/Western Morocco, activity started later (during Serravallian) was followed by emplacement alkali basalts basanites since Tortonian Pliocene and, some places, Pleistocene. Available data on tectonic setting, petrology, age...

Rhyodacite and rhyolite blocks found in numerous moraines on the Terre Adélie Craton Antarctica are samples of a high‐temperature high‐K calc‐alkaline to alkali‐calcic igneous suite emplaced at ca 1.60 Ga. They comprise lavas pyroclastic rocks, including ignimbritic varieties, chemically representative anorogenic post‐orogenic suites. The eruptive centres probably close coast according radar satellite images that show trace ice streams. volcanic is similar age, petrography chemical...

ABSTRACT The In Ouzzal granulitic massif is composed mainly of various meta‐igneous rocks which, in spite Rb, U, Th, Cs and some K Sr mobility, can be dated generally classified according to their chemical composition as follows. Basic ultrabasic granulites interlayered with the metasediments correspond (1) cumulates from dislocated tholeiitic bodies, (2) ancient komatiitic high‐Mg basalts similar suites found Archaean greenstone belts (3) calcalkaline protoliths high‐K andesitic...
