Risk is an inherent property of every project. In many cases, project management and risk are applied quite independently. The traditional tools do not include the notion focus on representation risks without explicitly representing project, which leads to implement process independently process. This paper demonstrates need develop integrated approach presents our able represent risks, but also its components environment.
Quality control in terms of material health, texture and workpiece geometry is not assured additive manufacturing. Many literature studies address quality issues on a scale less than one millimeter. On the other hand, few works concern geometrical defects at level piece as whole (form dimension), therefore greater several millimeters. From existing bibliography authors' experience, objective article to list typologies usually encountered configurations which they appear.
This paper focuses on surface defects of mechanical joint composed two plane surfaces carters assembly. The originality the proposed study is to manage both form errors and sliding complexities in a Computer Aided Tolerancing process. assembly procedure introduced tolerancing analysis process order assess designer's tolerance choices. It's also considered angular orientation carter's surface, corresponding mobility domain relative positions according this positioning parameter computed. one,...
This article deals with the behavior of a planar joint taking surface defects into account. Two theoretical concepts are used: gap hull and difference surface. Gap represents displacement space characterizing all possible relative displacements in joint. Difference simplifies study contact between parts that A bijective relationship these two is developed exploited. experimental methods to validate concepts. The first consists measuring using system designed specifically for this study....
The allocation of design and manufacturing tolerances has a significant effect on the final performance products associated costs. Although this phase is crucial in early stages product design, there lack tools to provide support for designers. main originality study propose an integrated optimisation scheme based particular ontological model, which structures problem from functional requirements stage definition quantified objectives optimisation. Design priorities are by weighting every...
This paper presents a metrological analysis of hip prosthesis components. When changing ceramic prostheses, the surgeon sometimes finds traces alloy lying in insert or femoral head. These can be thin and accurate as wide band. From measurements made on contact areas components, we analyse these phenomena by highlighting defects form, waviness roughness surfaces using novel geometric parameterization (namely modal parameterization). The aim this work is to isolate characterize prostheses We...
Abstract In this paper, an original trade-off function is proposed to deal with robust design in engineering. Robust engineering aims at sizing systems a low variation all performance measures under uncertainties. It mainly related the generation and evaluation of candidate solutions. However, it also suitable consider robustness decision-making process ensure selection most preferred early stages process. The purpose our research work consists tackling problem as between two objectives: (i)...
Abstract One method for modeling geometric variations in hyperstatic (i.e. overconstrained) systems is to use sets of constraints. Different models have been developed this way, e.g. domains, T-maps, and polytopes. In general, if the intersection contact constraints between two parts potentially nonempty, can be assembled without interference, their relative positions determined. study, polytope used with a statistical approach define behavior an assembly. first part, including form...
Purpose The modern manufacturing industry has put forward higher requirements for the assembly accuracy of components with development industrial technology. For precision assembly, traditional process study based on tolerance had difficulty in meeting these requirements. Hence, distribution form errors must be considered. registration between two mating surfaces determines parts’ position, and is basis prediction control accuracy. This aims to provide a new method which takes into...
The control of geometrical deviations and form variations throughout the product life-cycle is a fundamental task in geometric dimensioning tolerancing. As complexity increases, it has not only become necessary to rely on computers process non-geometrical information from early design stages but also come up with more realistic shape representation. Most computer-aided tolerancing (CAT) packages used nowadays are fully integrated softwares like CATIA SolidWorks they allow model 2D 3D...
