Silk fibroin powder and biodegradable polybutylene adipate terephthalate (PBAT)/poly lactide (PLA) blends were melt-mixed together to fabricate natural synthetic polymers as possible new sources of biomaterials. Morphological observations conducted through scanning electron microscopy indicated poor dispersion the silk agglomerates, which resulted from strong hydrogen interactions between chains in PBAT/PLA matrix. Although agglomerates decreased mechanical properties, fractions increased,...

Aluminum specimens were covered with film by a sol-gel coating and then anodized galvanostatically in neutral borate solution. Time variations the anode potential during anodizing monitored, structure dielectric properties of anodic oxide films examined transmission electron microscopy, Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy, electrochemical impedance measurements. It was found that aluminum coated leads to formation films, which consist an outer Al-Si composite layer inner layer, at...

Cerium(III) sulfide (Ce 2 S 3 ) powder was synthesized via the sulfurization of ceria (CeO using carbon disulfide gas. Single‐phase α‐Ce could be formed at 973 K for 28.8 ks. The preparation became feasible low temperature, in comparison to hydrogen According fact that formation accelerated by addition black CeO powder, carbothermic reduction considered become a dominant reaction, as temperature increased. To obtain activation energy densification β‐Ce which prepared vacuum heating , data...

The thermal decomposition of ammonium thiocyanate (NH4SCN) was studied by thermogravimetry, differential analysis, and mass spectrometry. It occurred in the temperature range from 400 to 530 K. products contained NH3, CS2, H2S, HNCS gases. Rare-earth oxides were reacted with these gases at 1273 K for 8 h order prepare rare-earth sulfides. single tetragonal β-La2S3 phase formed after sulfurization La2O3. In contrast, orthorhombic α-Gd2S3 Gd2O3. These powders consolidated pressure-assisted...

The classification and acidic leaching behaviors of phosphor sludge have been examined to establish the recycling system rare earth components contained in fluorescent lamp waste. At first, separation characteristic calcium phosphate was investigated by pneumatic classification. After sludge, were leached various solutions sodium hydroxide solution. For recovery soluble component solution, recovered treatment processes such as oxalate precipitations. experimental results obtained are...

Instead of the conventional sol‐gel process in which heat treatment is used to form a dense composite film after dipping/withdrawing substrate into/from sol, new incorporating ultraviolet (UV) irradiation at ambient temperature has been attempted improve alkaline corrosion resistance aluminum. A prepared by UV indicated that superior range 2.4 times 2.6 heated 573 K. The densification coating layer due elimination residual organics induced photoexcitation was responsible for improvement...

Aluminum coated with ZrO2, SiO2, and BaTiO3 films by a sol-gel dip coating was anodized to examine the structure dielectric properties of anodic oxide films. Anodizing leads formation films, which consist an outer Al- (Zr, Si, BaTiO3) composite layer inner Al2O3 layer, at interface between coated-oxide Al substrate. The converted into layers during anodizing for ZrO2- BaTiO3-coated specimens, whereas Al-Si SiO2-coated specimens. capacitance formed on specimens about 20% larger than that...

To improve the alkaline corrosion resistance of aluminum, composite films were prepared that consisted a porous layer anodically grown aluminum oxide filled with zirconium oxide, coating was deposited thereon via sol—gel process, using dip‐coating technique. The these extremely improved when this placed on an anodic film. Comparisons film and conventional showed increased by factor 24–50. Because films, which have high resistance, indicated vibration phenomenon voltage in duration time curve...

Abstract Pulse electric current sintering is used to prepare a compact from resinificated hydrous silk powder. Compacts with no remnant powders are formed 20 wt% added water, 20–40 MPa molding pressure, and >353 K temperature. The latter two much lower than those for conventional hot pressing. No dependence on pressure temperature found in XRD or FT‐IR analysis, except molded at 473 K, which fibroin decomposition confirmed by DSC, EGA‐MS, molecular weight measurements. compact's...
