Inkjet printing has proven to be a promising and flexible process methodology for low cost drop-on-demand pattern formation in small-scale production of micro-electro-mechanical systems. To optimize the micro-patterns formed by inkjet printing, an accurate control droplet volume is essential critical. In this study, system with nozzle driven circular piezoelectric element was used explore impact different waveforms on volume. The investigation into study included unipolar, bipolar, M-shaped...

Increasing the ionic conductivity has for decades been an overriding goal in development of solid polymer electrolytes. According to fundamental theories on ion transport mechanisms polymers, is strongly correlated free volume and segmental mobility conventional processes. Therefore, incorporating plasticizing side chains onto main chain host often appears as a clear-cut strategy improve system through lowering glass transition temperature (Tg). This intended correlation between Tg is,...

Myoblast fusion takes place in two steps mammals and Drosophila. First, founder cells (FCs) fusion-competent myoblasts (FCMs) fuse to form a trinucleated precursor, which then recruits further FCMs. This process depends on the formation of fusion-restricted myogenic-adhesive structure (FuRMAS), contains filamentous actin (F-actin) plugs at sites cell contact. Fusion relies HEM2 (NAP1) homolog Kette, as well Blow WASP, member Wiskott-Aldrich-syndrome protein family. Here, we show...

Cognitive dysfunctions are common in major depressive disorder, but have been difficult to recapitulate animal models. This study shows that Flinders sensitive line (FSL) rats, a genetic rat model of depression, display pronounced impairment emotional memory function the passive avoidance (PA) task, accompanied by reduced transcription Arc prefrontal cortex and hippocampus. At cellular level, FSL rats selective reductions levels NMDA receptor subunits, serotonin 5-HT(1A) receptors MEK...

Research on solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) is now moving beyond the realm of polyethers that have dominated field for several decades. A promising alternative group candidates SPE host materials carbonyl-containing polymers. In this work, properties three different types carbonyl-coordinating polymers are compared: polycarbonates, polyesters, and polyketones. The investigated were chosen to be as structurally similar possible, with only functional being different, thereby giving direct...

Cognitive impairments are common in depression and involve dysfunctional serotonin neurotransmission. The 5-HT1B receptor (5-HT1BR) regulates transmission, via presynaptic receptors, but can also affect transmitter release at heterosynaptic sites. This study aimed investigating the roles of 5-HT1BR, its adapter protein p11, emotional memory object recognition processes by use p11 knockout (p11KO) mice, a genetic model for aspects depression-related states. 5-HT1BR agonist treatment induced...

While solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) have great potential for use in future lithium-based batteries, they do, however, not display conductivity at a sufficient level as compared to liquid electrolytes. To reach the needed requirements of lithium batteries it is therefore necessary explore new materials classes serve novel hosts. In this work, SPEs based on polyketone poly(3,3-dimethylpentane-2,4-dione) were investigated. Polyketones are structurally similar several polycarbonate and...

Previous reports have demonstrated that expression of insulin-like growth factor 2 (IGF2) is altered in hepatoblastoma. Using RNAase protection analysis (RPA), we examined the gene for IGF1, IGF2, IGF1R, M6P/IGF2R, IGFBP-1 and IGFBP-2 a series hepatoblastomas with corresponding normal liver from same individuals. The results show IGF-axis members included present study are between tumour normal, indicate may be involved hepatoblastoma development.

Caffeine is believed to exert its stimulant effects by blocking A(2A) and A(1) adenosine receptors (A(2A)R A(1)R). Although a genetic knockout of A(2A)R eliminates caffeine, the phenotype animal does not resemble that caffeine treatment. In this study we explored possibility mere reduction number A(1)Rs A(2A)Rs, achieved deleting one two copies A(1)R genes, would mimic some aspects long-term ingestion.
