Persistent, Mobile, and Toxic (PMT) very persistent mobile (vPvM) substances are a growing threat to water security safety. Many of these distinctively different from other more traditional contaminants in terms their charge, polarity, aromaticity. This results sorption affinities towards sorbents such as activated carbon. Additionally, an increasing awareness on the environmental impact carbon footprint technologies puts some energy-intensive practices treatment into question. Commonly used...

Per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS) have complex sorption behaviors, complicating removal from water selection of suitable adsorbents. We evaluated adsorption 44 PFAS across four adsorbent groups: activated carbon biochar (AC BC), cyclodextrin-based adsorbents (cyclodextrins), polymer-based resins, inorganic metal organic frameworks (MOFs). analyzed over 500 coefficients (Kd) literature, calculated at aqueous equilibrium concentration 1 ± 0.3 µg/L under comparable experimental...

Methyl cellulose as organic binder and bentonite clay were simultaneously used to prepare activated carbon monolith (ACM) using powder (PAC) by means of extrusion process. To study the effects PAC particle size on porosity, adsorption, mechanical properties ACMs, four broad types including with less than 150, 90, 50 µm, without screening prepared used. Actually, it was tried improve adsorption capacity, surface area, strength (both compression impact strength) ACMs microparticles certain...

Accuracy of Dubinin-Astakhov (DA) and Dubinin-Radushkevich (DR) isotherm models were examined for evaluating micropore volume several natural pillared bentonite samples with type I II isotherms. Afterwards, the obtained results compared calculated by Horvath–Kawazoe (HK) model. The showed that accuracy DA DR this purpose depends on types range relative pressure (P/P0) in which are applied. It can be generally concluded used to calculate instead HK imposes more complicated calculations.

A procedure for preparing the semi-activated carbon fiber (SACF) at low temperature is proposed. The first step of coating an inorganic (E-glass fiber) by adsorbent mixture (powder activated carbon) using methyl cellulose and water as gluing material. In this work, a set experiments were performed to attain appropriate good quality coating. best composition was investigated based on adsorption mechanical properties coated fibers. results showed that containing 3 4 wt% cellulose, 15-20...
