Heliaquanoid A (1), the first exo-2,4-linked Diels–Alder adduct between a pseudoguaianolide dienophile and guaianolide diene, heliaquanoids B–E (2–5), four new 2,4-linked adducts xanthanolide were isolated from stems leaves of Inula helianthus-aquatica. Their structures determined by NMR spectroscopy, modified Mosher's method, electronic circular dichroism, X-ray diffraction analysis. Compounds 2 3 exhibited moderate cytotoxic activities against HL-60 cells with IC50 values 7.5 4.9 μM, respectively.
A practical and scalable ortho-selective deuteration of aromatic aldehydes was accomplished by Pd-catalyzed hydrogen isotope exchange with deuterium oxide as an inexpensive source. The use tert-leucine a transient directing group facilitates the exchange, affording wide range ortho-deuterated incorporation up to 97%. control experiments suggest that addition silver trifluoroacetate resists unexpected reduction Pd(II), while theoretical study indicates rapid reversible concerted...
A one-step catalytic and diastereoselective method for the synthesis of aziridines possessing multiple chiral substitutions by radical aminotrifluoromethylation alkenes has been developed first time.
