This prospective study examined the characteristics of children admitted to a pediatric emergency department and factors that influenced successful establishment peripheral intravenous (IV) access. Descriptive correlational analysis was completed using convenience sample 89 patients. Peripheral IV access in 95.7% children, first attempt at insertion 53% procedures.
