We report on arc melt syntheses of HoB2 and Nb-substituted polycrystalline ingots their magnetocaloric microstructural properties. XRD data analysis reveal that a nominal 10% Nb addition during synthesis results in changes to unit cell parameters grain morphology. Interpretation refined using Vegard’s law shows substitutes into with stoichiometry Ho0.93Nb0.07B2. The flux pinning mechanism of BaFe1.9Ni0.1As2 superconducting crystals have been investigated systematically by magnetic measurements up to 13 T at various temperatures. field dependence the critical current density, Jc, was analysed within collective model.
