Although Alzheimer's disease is the most prevalent form of dementia, there are no treatments capable slowing progression. A lack reliable endpoints and/or biomarkers contributes in part to absence effective therapies. Using machine learning analyze EEG offers a possible solution overcome many limitations current diagnostic modalities. Here we develop logistic regression model with an accuracy 81% that addresses shortcomings previous works. To our knowledge, other study has been able solve...

Far field X-ray grating interferometry achieves extraordinary phase sensitivity in imaging weakly absorbing samples, provided that the period is within transverse coherence length of source. Here we describe a cost-efficient process to fabricate large area, 100 nm half-pitch hard gratings with an aspect ratio 32. The nanometric are suitable for ordinary compact sources having low spatial coherence, as demonstrated by diffraction experiments.

Abstract X-ray phase-contrast imaging is a promising approach for improving soft-tissue contrast and lowering radiation dose in biomedical applications. While current tabletop systems adapt to common x-ray tubes large-area detectors by employing absorptive elements such as absorption gratings or monolithic crystals filter the beam, we developed nanometric phase which enable far-field interferometry with only phase-shifting elements, leading substantial enhancement performance of imaging. In...

Filling high-aspect-ratio trenches with gold is a frequent requirement in the fabrication of X-ray optics as well micro-electronic components and other processes. Conformal electrodeposition sub-micron-width silicon an aspect ratio greater than 35 over grating area several square centimeters challenging has not been described literature previously. A comparison pulsed plating constant current led to electroplating protocol that reliably filled for such structures.

Background: Most percutaneous dilatational tracheostomy (PDT) mortalities result from airway-related complications. Improved airway pressure management and gas delivery are targets for innovation. This study describes an adaptable laryngeal mask (ALM) designed to remove the bronchoscope endotracheal tube (ETT) place it in a separate lumen. Airflow device efficacy were evaluated during PDTs with ALM on mannequins cadavers, respectively. Methods: Procedures completed by single physician using...

Low dose, high contrast x-ray imaging is of general interest in medical diagnostic applications. X-ray Mach-Zehnder interferometers using collimated synchrotron beams demonstrate the highest levels phase under a given exposure dose. However, common sources emit divergent cone beams. Here, we developed spherical-wave inline interferometer for over an extended area with broadband and source. The first tabletop system was tested experiments mammographic accreditation phantom various biological...
