Groundwater overexploitation has caused massive groundwater depletion and raised concerns for water food security in India. India also suffers from multiple quality issues such as arsenic fluoride contamination that pose human health risks. Here we report new data showing the occurrence uranium Indian is an emerging widespread phenomenon. We present compiled on 16 states 324 wells of Rajasthan Gujarat show a high prevalence concentrations above World Health Organization provisional guideline...

The inflammatory cytokine interleukin 1 beta (IL-1 beta) induces both cyclooxygenase (COX) and nitric oxide synthase (NOS) with increases in the release of prostaglandin (PG) (NO) by mesangial cells. Recently, activation COX enzyme NO has been described. However, effects products (PGs) on pathway have not fully clarified. Thus we determined effect inhibition exogenous PGs production NOS induction rat A inhibitor, indomethacin, enhanced IL-1 beta-induced steady-state level inducible (iNOS)...

Abstract Background Arsenic toxicity in humans is well recognized. It has been classified as a class I human carcinogen by the International Agency of Research on Cancer. enters body mainly through drinking water, dermal contact, food chain, and inhalation. The Gangetic belt India considered one most arsenic-affected sites India. Health risk assessment population exposed to arsenic water important. present study was conducted assess groundwater quality associated health risks people...

Environmental flow of the river Sone at Indrapuri barrage was estimated using 36 years discharge data and Global Flow Calculator Software. To maintain in moderate condition to keep basic ecosystem functions intact, least 18.9% mean annual runoff (MAR) has been estimated, while actual merely 5.16% MAR. The presently holds 89 fish species, but 20 species reported an earlier study were not observed, 14 new encountered. Sediments, water macro-benthic biota also studied know effect low discharge.

A comprehensive assessment of ground water resources is carried out in the Ranchi Urban Area to understand hydrogeochemical processes along with drinking quality by means index (WQI). The major chemical composition exhibits that, all ions are present within prescribed limits BIS, 2012. WQI applying rating scale assess suitability for purpose that 40%, 54.28% and 5.71% groundwater samples fall excellent, good poor quality, respectively. Elevated concentration some locations may be owed...

SUMMARY A mild form of strangles caused by an atypical Streptococcus equi was recognized on a large horse breeding farm. The organism differed from most S isolates disappearance the mucoid capsule 24 hours culture, leaving matt-type colony. Typically, clinical signs were transient (24-48 hour) fever, profuse nasal discharge, and anorexia. In about half affected animals, there moderate mandibular lymph node enlargement, these glands usually ruptured or drained. use passive hemagglutination...
