Abstract Background Women undergoing cardiac surgery have been historically recognized to carry higher periprocedural mortality risk. We aimed investigate the influence of sex on clinical presentation, perioperative, and long-term outcomes in patients who undergo for ascending aortic aneurysm. Methods conducted a retrospective review 1148 consecutive (380 [33.1%] female) underwent thoracic under moderate hypothermic circulatory arrest aneurysms between 2001 2021. Baseline operative...

Background. Infective endocarditis (IE) is considered a life-threatening cardiac infection with predilection to involve heart valves. One of the most feared complications IE development new-onset neurological (NCs). The aim this study compare short- and long-term outcomes surgery in patients presenting vs. without NCs. Methods. Abstract Background Open total arch replacement (TAR) remains the mainstay management strategy for thoracic aortic pathologies. TAR evolved from 2-stage conventional elephant trunk (CET) technique to hybrid frozen (FET) which combined open surgical repair (OSR) with endovascular (TEVAR) into a 1-stage procedure. Although FET has been able achieve better outcomes than CET, it is still associated complications requiring secondary reintervention. Consequently, being overtaken by new generations...

Background: Delayed umbilical cord clamping (DCC) for two to three minutes after birth, results in substantial transfusion of blood from the placenta newborn, thus likely improve iron status within first months life. However, optimal infant position during DCC relation mother's pelvis has not yet been determined and this maneuver suggested have risk neonatal jaundice cardiopulmonary compromise. Objective: To study effect with held at level pelvis, compared early on: a) 3–5 age (primary...

We present a case of rituximab-induced organizing pneumonia (OP) along with bronchiectasis and pulmonary fibrosis, in patient history granulomatosis polyangiitis (GPA), on long-term maintenance therapy rituximab. T-cell dysregulation B-cell depletion associated the chronic use rituximab often lead to profound immunosuppressed state hypogammaglobulinemia unbalanced response. This acquired immunodeficient severe immune predisposed this recurrent infection ultimately led fibrosis.

Introduction: Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) in young individuals (≤45 y) is increasingly recognized as a significant health concern, yet research this demographic remains limited, particularly within the Palestinian context. This study aims to bridge gap by comprehensively investigating clinical characteristics, age-specific profiles, gender disparities, treatment modalities, and angiographic patterns of ACS patients compared their older counterparts. Materials Methods: A multicenter...
