Pulmonary hypertension (PH) and secondary mitral regurgitation (MR) are associated with adverse outcomes after transcatheter edge-to-edge repair. We aim to study the prognostic value of invasively measured right ventricular afterload in patients undergoing

Abstract Background Cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) implantation is on the rise, accompanied by an increase in its inevitable complications such as different types of CIED infections that require further therapy and potential extraction. Ensuring efficacy safety remains paramount transvenous lead extraction (TLE), given complex nature procedure. The purpose this study to assess outcomes relatively low-cost mechanical TLE, including mid-term clinical follow-up, develop a...

Metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD), formerly known as non-alcoholic disease, is the leading cause of that can ultimately lead to cirrhosis. Identifying a screening marker for early diagnosis MAFLD in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) reduce risk morbidity and mortality. This study investigated association between atherogenic index plasma (AIP) T2D.A retrospective case-control was conducted medical records T2D were assessed. The baseline characteristics, anthropometric...

Improvement in left atrial pressure (LAP) during transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) is associated with improved outcomes. We sought to investigate the predictors of optimal hemodynamic response TEER.We identified patients who underwent TEER at Mayo Clinic between May 2014 and February 2022. Patients missing LAP data, an aborted procedure, those undergoing a concomitant tricuspid were excluded. performed logistic regression analysis identify (defined as ≤ 15 mmHg).A total 473 included...

Prior studies investigating the impact of residual mitral regurgitation (MR), tricuspid (TR), and elevated predischarge transmitral mean pressure gradient (TMPG) on outcomes after transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) have assessed each parameter in isolation. We sought to examine prognostic value combining MR, TR, TMPG study long-term TEER.

BACKGROUND: Increased left atrial pressure (LAP) has been associated with adverse outcomes after mitral transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (M-TEER). We sought to evaluate based on differences in postprocedural LAP measured the final clip deployment. METHODS: included consecutive patients who underwent M-TEER at our institution between 2014 and 2022 monitoring. Patients were stratified into 3 groups according tertiles of post-TEER mean LAP. Outcomes assessed using Kaplan-Meier analysis Cox...

Background Glycemic variability is a novel predictor for diabetic complications. Different studies have demonstrated contradictory results the association between HbA1c and retinopathy. We aimed to assess relationship visit-to-visit in glycemic profile (HbA1c, 2hPP, FBS) Methods Patients with type 2 diabetes were monitored development of retinopathy 10 years. The incidence was assessed via Cox regression analysis, coefficient variation indices compared using independent sample t -test....

The aim of this study was to describe the use pattern and outcomes protamine administration for heparin reversal among sites performing percutaneous left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO).We identified 45,135 patients who underwent LAAO at 243 hospitals participating in Vizient® Clinical Database between January 1, 2016 December 31, 2021. Patients were stratified according after procedure. Outcomes interest included vascular complications, major bleeding, ischemic events, same-day...

Abstract Background Controlling cholesterol levels is one of the primary goals preventing atherosclerotic plaque progression in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. This study aimed to investigate impact serum profile at multiple time points following isolated CABG surgery on long-term patient outcomes. Method retrospective cohort was conducted admission and follow-up data from Tehran Heart Center registry between 2009 2016. The association low-density lipoprotein...

Persistent left superior vena cava, the most common thoracic venous anomaly, may complicate transvenous lead extraction (TLE). We report a successful case of TLE in patient with persistent despite long dwelling time and several pocket revisions due to infection. The was removed via hand-powered mechanical sheath, postoperative complications did not occur. Complicated cases have better outcome if performed high-volume center experienced specialists.
