The fiber metal laminates (FML), consisting of carbon reinforced polymer prepregs and magnesium alloys sheets, were introduced, the Mode I (peel) II (shear) interlaminar fracture toughness FMLs investigated. results show that (0.23 kJ/m2) is much lower than (5.81 kJ/m2), due to fact effects mechanical interlock hinder crack propagates smaller under loading conditions II. mainly adhesive failure interfacial conditions, while for loading, it exhibits a degree epoxy cohesive except failure.

Significant columnar grains usually occur in the metallurgical microstructure of laser additive manufacturing, and plastic deformation introduced into manufacturing can significantly refine grain size. Due to high resistance difficult titanium alloys, reducing high-temperature alloys is essential facilitating implementation online rolling processes. High-temperature compression was performed on a Gleeble-3800. It found that flow stress alloy decreased when strain or temperature increased....

<p>Through an analysis on the relationship among ceramic properties, depth of penetration (DOP) test parameters and ballistic performance armour ceramics based literatures, effects type, tile thickness projectile velocity different kinds were investigated systematically. The results show that mainly depends its density, by using thin tiles or under high impact, composite could not provide effective protection. Furthermore, differences in are found due to criteria DOP conditions....

Biofilm formation on the surface of materials has brought great troubles to various industries. Designing surfaces with long-lasting antibiofouling properties can help restrain primary bacterial and protein attachment subsequent biofilm for a long time, which is also significance industrial applications. In this work, we successfully prepared fluorinated carbon nanotubes through one-step fluorination method using fluorosilane fabricated superamphiphobic coating simple spray method. This...

In this study, we prepared fibre metal laminates (FMLs) consisting of high-modulus carbon fibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP) prepregs and thin AZ31 alloy sheets by using hot-pressing technology. Tensile low-velocity impact tests were performed to evaluate the mechanical properties fracture behaviour magnesium alloy-based FMLs (Mg-FMLs) investigate differences in between Mg-FMLs traditional Mg-FMLs. Results show that exhibit higher specific tensile strength modulus than is mainly governed CFRP...

Three different types of fibre metal laminates (FMLs) with varying layers thickness, consisting carbon reinforced polymer (CFRP) prepregs and magnesium alloy sheets, were prepared by a hot-press process. The flexural behaviour the FMLs investigated using three point test method, to investigate effect layer thickness on while maintaining constant volume fraction overall in design results show that modulus decreases an almost linear manner decrease thicknesses, yet no clear differences...

In this study, the effect of different pre-treatment techniques (sandblasting, micro-arc oxidation and laser ablation) on interlaminar strength, failure mode galvanic corrosion resistance FMLs based aluminum alloy 5083 was comprehensively investigated by utilizing peeling test an immersion test. The results show that ablation can greatly enhance Mode I (peel) strength 67.2% 80.8% respectively, compared with traditional sandblasting methods. For treated sandblasting, it mainly shows adhesive...

Chemical warfare agents (CWAs) can be absorbed in polymeric coatings through absorption and permeation, thus presenting a lethal touch vapor hazards to people. Developing highly impermeable polymer coating against CWAs, especially organophosphate CWAs (OPs), is challenging desirable. Herein, fluorinated epoxy (F-EP) (EP) with different cross-link densities were prepared resist OPs. The effects of the structure, including density, chemical composition free volume, on resistance dimethyl...
