A 38-year-old Asian male with severe mitral valve regurgitation underwent elective minimally invasive repair artificial chordae and concomitant Cox-Maze procedure. Cardiopulmonary bypass required large peripheral cannulas due to the patient's increased body surface area a total time of 216 min. Lung abscesses result from invasive infections causing collection of necrotic debris in the lung parenchyma. Antibiotics are considered first line therapy. Rarely, event failure therapy, surgical resection or drainage is advised. Here we report case an adult immunocompetent patient with two large not responding to antibiotic therapy and managed percutaneous clinical recovery, avoiding resection.
