From December 2004 to July 2005, three reports on the effects of low doses ionising radiation were released: ICRP (2004), joint report French Academies Science and Medicine (Tubiana et al 2005), a from American Academy Sciences (BEIR VII 2005). These quote same recent articles biological doses, yet their conclusions diverge. The concludes that data show efficacy defense mechanisms is modulated by dose rate linear no threshold (LNT) longer plausible. BEIR recognise there are biologic...
We report on the uptake, toxicity and degradation of magnetic nanowires by NIH/3T3 mouse fibroblasts. Magnetic diameters 200 nm lengths comprised between 1 {\mu}m 40 are fabricated controlled assembly iron oxide ({\gamma}-Fe2O3) nanoparticles. Using optical electron microscopy, we show that after 24 h incubation wires internalized cells located either in membrane-bound compartments or dispersed cytosol. fluorescence were identified as late endosomal/lysosomal endosomes labeled with lysosomal...
Abstract— The photoaddition of mono‐functional furocoumarins such as 5,7‐dimethoxycoumarin, angelicin and 3‐carbethoxypsoralen induces a function dose or survival much lower frequency reverse mutations in Saccharomyces cerevisiae than the two bi‐functional furocoumarins, psoralen 8‐methoxypsoralen. From this, it is suggested that lesions, i.e. DNA interstrand cross‐links, may be repaired yeast by an error‐prone process.
