Orbital involvement is a rare occurrence in retinoblastoma but still carries bad prognosis. The aim of this study was to define more clearly the role chemotherapy advanced disease.Between 1977 and 1991, 33 patients were treated at Services de Pédiatrie Institut Curie (Paris, France) for orbital retinoblastoma, which isolated 20 associated with metastases 13 (outside central nervous system [CNS], 6; within CNS, 7). Treatment included patients, irradiation orbit 23 intrathecal and/or CNS...

Six cases of a rare entity, lacrimal gland malignant mixed tumor (MMT), or carcinoma arising in benign (BMT), are presented. Clinically, 2 patients had long history orbital protrusion, which recently progressed more rapidly, In other cases, the carcinomas evolved after recurrences BMT. Two experienced recent onset symptoms, without known previously having been present. Clinical clues suggesting neoplasm include 1 rapid symptoms (orbital eyelid swelling presence pain; and 3) radiographic...

Although HIV self-testing strategies have been recommended by the World Health Organization, self-tests are not yet approved in Canada. Currently offer toll-free lines that insufficient for initiating expedited linkages to counseling and care, accurate interpretation, support during self-testing. We developed an innovative, multilingual software app called HIVSmart! plug these gaps.

Background Restricted presentation of malignancy at both lacrimal and parotid salivary glands are unusual occurrences that may pose clinical diagnostic difficulties. Methods We applied certain clinicopathological criteria to distinguish between gland primaries in a series 11 patients with synchronous and/or metachronous tumors similar histology sites. Results Of eight primary carcinomas, seven had metastases glands. All three carcinomas concurrent Patients metastasizing the appear have...

This paper describes the evaluation of a regularized Bayesian neural network model in prognostic applications. A total sample size 5442 subjects treated with ocular melanoma two centers; Liverpool and Paris was used to carry out external validation analysis model. The performance benchmarked against traditional Cox regression clinically accepted TNM staging system. cumulative hazards curve for much closer empirical test data than one produced by showed equal Cox's terms discrimination....

We present a case report of 60-year-old white woman, found to have advanced angle closure glaucoma in the right eye and appositional for about half left no glaucoma. The remaining was open with localized heavy pigmentation ciliary body band trabecular meshwork. Ultrasound biomicroscopy showed tumor displacing iris root centripetally preventing closure.

An 18-month-old boy presented with an iris pigmented epithelium cyst. The diagnosis was confirmed using high frequency ultrasonography. cyst determined to be in intermediate location, thus needing no treatment provided that any potential complications were noted. However, continued monitoring is required detect changes adapt management. [J Pediatr Ophthalmol Strabismus. 2017;54:e31-e33.].

Abstract Background Although HIV self-tests are recommended by the WHO, they not yet approved in Canada. Service delivery gaps such as linkages to counseling and care remain unachieved offering without adequate support. In this first Canadian study, we evaluated feasibility of operationalizing an innovative HIVSmart! app-optimized oral self-testing strategy men who have sex with (MSM), presenting at a large sexual health clinic Montreal. Methods Between July 2016 February 2017, participants...
