In Class-D audio amplifiers (CDAs), nonlinearity of power stages and pulse-width-modulation (PWM) modulators poses a main challenge in pursuit high-fidelity output. The distortion is typically suppressed by closed-loop topology with high inband loop gain [1, 2]. However, due to the roll-off gain, total harmonic plus noise (THD+N) CDA tends increase at frequency. Another source arises from aliasing high-frequency PWM residuals, which limits minimum THD+N [3]. Although this can be improved...

It was originally stated that convolution operations were required to implement adjoint sensitivity in the time domain. In this article, we revisit time-domain with a circuit theoretic approach and an efficient solution is clearly terms of device level. Key linearization energy storage elements (e.g., capacitance inductance) nonlinear memoryless MOS, BJT DC characteristics) at each step. Due finite precision computation, numerical errors accumulate across timesteps can arise elements. A...

Step-function excitations are convenient abstractions for circuit turn on/off and switching activities in general. However, they ill-handled by SPICE-derived simulators that employ implicit integration approximations substitute steep ramps steps. An ACES-derived explicit method efficiently handles step-functions, manages potential instability, converges to the steady state. The resulting simulator can be employed find an initial state size excursion-limited accuracy control. It also is able...
