Hyperbranched polyethylenimine (HPEI) modified polyacrylonitrile fiber (PANF) was prepared through a water mediated hydrolysis and amidation reaction in an autoclave. The grafting amount of HPEI onto PANF could be modulated conveniently by varying the preparation conditions, such as temperature, time feed ratio to PANF. Young's modulus decreased with HPEI, especially when more HPEIs were grafted. As for PANF-g-HPEI low content, moduli similar before after loading AuNPs, whereas AuNPs...

The pyrolysis of a hyperbranched polyethylenimine (PEI) and glycerol mixture under microwaves generated the carbon dot (CD) functionalized with PEI (CD-PEI). Isobutyric amide (IBAm) groups were attached to CD-PEI through amidation reaction isobutyric anhydride moiety, which resulted in thermoresponsive CD-PEI-IBAm's. CD-PEI-IBAm's not only but also responded other stimuli, including inorganic salt, pH, loaded organic guests. cloud point temperature (Tcp) aqueous solutions could be modulated...

Novel thermoresponsive gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) with lower critical solution temperature (LCST) were obtained through the non-covalent interaction between a hyperbranched polyethylenimine isobutyramide groups (HPEI-IBAm) and citrate-protected AuNPs. The LCSTs of AuNPs could be conveniently modulated over broad range by altering molecular weight HPEI core, degree substitution (DS) IBAm HPEI-IBAm polymers or pH solution. used as recyclable responsive catalysts for reduction reaction...

Thermoresponsive gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) with lower critical solution temperature (LCST) adjustable over a broad range were explored to be potentially used as colorimetric sensors. Upon raising the above LCST surface plasmon resonance (SPR) peaks of obtained thermoresponsive AuNPs red-shifted sharply in narrow range, accompanied by color transition from transparent red purple–red until turbid red, which made them suitable sensitive sensors for detecting environmental variation. Moreover,...

The salt effects on the water solubility of thermoresponsive hyperbranched polyethylenimine and polyamidoamine possessing large amounts isobutyramide terminal groups (HPEI-IBAm HPAMAM-IBAm) were studied systematically. Eight anions with sodium as counterion ten cations chloride used to measure anion cation cloud point temperature (T(cp)) these dendritic polymers in water. It was found that T(cp) much more sensitive addition salts than traditional linear polymers. At low concentration,...
