We investigate the first law of thermodynamics in case (2+1)-dimensional Banados–Teitelboim–Zanelli black holes and Kerr–de Sitter spacetimes. In particular, we focus on integral mass formulas. It is found that by assuming cosmological constant as a variable state parameter, both differential formulas hole asymptotic flat spacetimes can be directly extended to those rotating anti-de de backgrounds. should pointed these formulae come into existence any dimensions.

Abstract. We describe the design and execution of BORTAS (Quantifying impact BOReal forest fires on Tropospheric oxidants over Atlantic using Aircraft Satellites) experiment, which has overarching objective understanding chemical aging air masses that contain emission products from seasonal boreal wildfires how these subsequently downwind atmospheric composition. The central focus experiment was a two-week deployment UK BAe-146-301 Atmospheric Research (ARA) eastern Canada, based out...

Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the sub-national scale requires contextual insights and localized implementation. This study utilizes Driver-Pressure-State-Impact-Response (DPSIR) framework to assess SDG progress interactions in Pearl River Delta (PRD) metropolitan region of China. Population growth, economic development, rapid urbanization are key drivers, exerting pressures on energy water consumption, pollutant discharges, transportation, environmental degradation,...

We present measurements of a long-range smoke transport event recorded on 20–21 July 2011 over Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, during the Quantifying impact BOReal forest fires Tropospheric oxidants Atlantic using Aircraft and Satellites (BORTAS-B) campaign. Ground-based Fourier transform spectrometers photometers detected air masses associated with large wildland burning in eastern Manitoba western Ontario. investigate plume high trace gas amounts but low particles that preceded...

Abstract. This paper presents 8 years (2006–2013) of measurements obtained from Fourier transform spectrometers (FTSs) in the high Arctic at Polar Environment Atmospheric Research Laboratory (PEARL; 80.05° N, 86.42° W). These were taken as part Canadian ACE (Atmospheric Chemistry Experiment) validation campaigns that have been carried out since 2004 during polar sunrise period (from mid-February to mid-April). Each spring, two ground-based FTSs used measure total and partial columns HF, O3,...

This research compared the effects of solo and collaborative gameplay formats on learning achievement motivation among freshmen English students. Sixty students were randomly assigned to play educational games either individually or in small groups over ten weeks. While both received similar instructional time, one played independently using individual devices, while other sharing a single device. A pre-test post-test design was used, with 20 multiple-choice exam assessing freshman...
