Clinical Relevance When restoring teeth, a higher success rate can be achieved by using posts with an elastic modulus similar to that of dentin and core, equal or strength, such as glass fiber posts. Moreover, the failure mode for these post systems will allow further repair.
Heat convection is an important phenomenon in the process of cooling polymer spur gears running dry conditions, which ultimately affects strength gears. In order to gain some insight into this phenomenon, a numerical heat model for proposed work, based on detailed CFD simulation operating conditions and it allows us investigate through their external surfaces. The performance illustrated with several examples, parametric study has been conducted observe variation transfer coefficients face...
summary The aim of this study was to test the following hypothesis: biomechanical performance (fracture strength and stress distribution) restored teeth is less sensitive post diameter length when using glass fibre posts than stainless steel posts. First, an experimental fracture performed on 80 extracted human maxillary central incisors. Teeth were decoronated, treated endodontically (40 with 40 posts), varied uniformly. Failure loads recorded results compared ancova analysis. Secondly,...
The finite element method is widely applied for the determination of contact and bending stresses in gear drives. It based on model drive that built by discretization pinion teeth usually does not take into account supporting components gears, as shafts, their bearings, or case. Such have an important influence formation bearing due to deformations under load. Recently, some improved models been proposed analysis drives including shafts. Those allowed shaft deflections be taken investigation...
Introduction: The finite element method has been extensively used to analyze the mechanical behavior of endodontic rotary files under bending and torsional conditions. This methodology requires elevated computer-aided design skills reproduce geometry file, also mathematical knowledge perform analysis. In this study, an automated procedure is proposed for computerized generation analysis Methods: An file with a 25mm total length, 0.25mm at tip, 1.20mm 16mm from 2mm pitch squared cross section...
Gear misalignments cause transmission errors, the shift of bearing contact and may reduce substantially life gears. Some gear are caused directly by shafts but others mainly related with torque shaft bending. Even for perfectly aligned drives, bending due to power causes shifting towards edge tooth surfaces those non-modified drives theoretical lineal contact. In this paper, four different models (two based on Bernoulli’s beam theory two finite element method) have been proposed modeling in...
Plastic gears bring some interesting advantages compared to metal gears. However, they also have drawbacks, many of them related the dependency their mechanical properties with temperature. Among other reasons, friction between gear teeth causes a heat flux that heats and produces temperature variations within geometries. These effects on response gears, must be taken into account when designing plastic drives. In this work, two different finite element models been proposed perform heating...
Gear misalignments originate unwanted uneven load distributions that increase contact pressures and the bending stresses, reducing service life of gear drives. Therefore, it is very important to take into account in determination when designing a transmission. Some these are related manufacturing assembly errors, but others produced by deformation shafts power transmitted. These deformations cause misalignment gears, modifying bearing pressure distribution, which modifies shafts, leading...
