Cross-equatorial northerly surge (CENS) is characterized by a strengthening of moist monsoon winds over south the South China Sea in western Maritime Continent. The CENS typically lasts few days boreal winter and frequently reported as crucial synoptic forcing heavy rainfall flood events northern Java Island. occurrence has been generally understood an extension cold (CS) coming from East Asia. However, out 117 identified last 42 years, only 59% were induced surges (CENS-CS). We further...

Abstract Southeast Asia and Australia have historically suffered significant losses due to droughts. Understanding these droughts can serve as a foundation for mitigation strategies aimed at reducing the damages they cause. Meteorological drought indices, such Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI), offer valuable method quantifying severity frequency. This study employs monthly precipitation data from GPM_3IMERGM (0.1° x 0.1°) spanning 2000-2021 calculate SPI across different time scales: 3...

Abstract Bandung basin, particularly Cikapundung river is highly susceptible to recurrent flooding due its significant rainfall levels, making it one of the most flood-prone regions in Indonesia. These frequent floods have severe consequences for Greater Bandung, administrative center West Java, disrupting infrastructure, public safety, and local economic activities. To effectively mitigate these risks, essential a comprehensive understanding flood hazard levels within basin. This study...
