Bubble-chamber data for the reaction ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}p\ensuremath{\rightarrow}p8\ensuremath{\pi}$ at 11.0 GeV/c have been analyzed from standpoint of a new procedure which emphasizes mass dependence momentum-transfer distribution. The technique shows promise resolving different types production mechanisms. It is shown that analysis structure observed in these variables allows discrimination among some models this extraordinarily complex reaction.
We present the results that are necessary in ongoing lattice calculations of gluon parton distribution functions (PDFs) within pseudo-PDF approach. give a classification possible two-gluon correlator and identify those contain invariant amplitude determining PDF light-cone $z^2 \to 0$ limit. One-loop have been performed coordinate representation an explicitly gauge-invariant form. made effort to separate ultraviolet (UV) infrared (IR) sources $\ln (-z^2)$-dependence at short distances $z^2$....
In this study, we present a determination of the unpolarized gluon Ioffe-time distribution in nucleon from first principles lattice quantum chromodynamics calculation. We carry out calculation on $32^3\times 64$ ensemble with pion mass $358$ MeV and spacing $0.094$ fm. construct interpolating fields using distillation technique, flow gauge gradient flow, solve summed generalized eigenvalue problem to determine glounic matrix elements. Combining these techniques allows us provide...
We present a determination of the non-singlet transversity parton distribution function (PDF) nucleon, normalized with respect to tensor charge at $\mu^2=2$ GeV$^2$ from lattice quantum chromodynamics. apply pseudo-distribution approach, using gauge ensemble spacing 0.094 fm and light quark mass tuned pion 358 MeV. extract PDF analysis short-distance behavior Ioffe-time leading-twist next-to-leading order (NLO) matching coefficients calculated for transversity. reconstruct $x$-dependence...
We present the first exploratory lattice quantum chromodynamics (QCD) calculation of polarized gluon Ioffe-time pseudodistribution in nucleon. The provides a frame-independent and gauge-invariant framework to determine helicity nucleon from principles. employ high-statistics computation using ${32}^{3}\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}64$ ensemble characterized by 358 MeV pion mass 0.094 fm spacing. establish approach as feasible method address proton spin puzzle with successive improvements...
A bstract The non-singlet helicity quark parton distribution functions (PDFs) of the nucleon are determined from lattice QCD, by jointly leveraging pseudo-distributions and distillation spatial smearing paradigm. Lorentz decomposition appropriately isolated space-like matrix elements reveals that contain information on leading-twist PDFs, as well an invariant amplitude induces additional z 2 contamination signal. An analysis short-distance behavior using matching coefficients computed to...
We formulate the basic points of pseudo-PDF approach to lattice calculation polarized gluon PDFs. present results our calculations one-loop corrections for bilocal $G_{\mu \alpha}(z) \widetilde G_{\lambda \beta}(0)$ correlator gluonic fields. Expressions are given a general situation when all four indices arbitrary, and also specific combinations corresponding three matrix elements that contain twist-2 invariant amplitude related PDF. study evolution properties these elements, derive...
We present the results that form basis for calculations of unpolarized gluon parton distributions (PDFs) using pseudo-PDF approach. give most complicated box diagram both bilocal operators with arbitrary indices and combinations corresponding to three matrix elements are convenient extract twist-2 invariant amplitude. also detailed gluon-quark transition diagram. The additional contribution may be used extractions PDF from different elements, a possible cross-check obtained in this way.
The invariant differential cross sections and polarization ($0.5<{x}_{\mathrm{F}}<0.8$, $0.0<{p}_{\ensuremath{\perp}}<1.5$ GeV/c) of $\ensuremath{\Lambda}'\mathrm{s}$ produced in pion-induced reactions have been measured. scaling section agrees with previous experiments performed at other energies. ${(1\ensuremath{-}{x}_{\mathrm{F}})}^{N}$ dependence the gives an exponent $N=1.88\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.04$. These are first measurements pion fragmentation region. A mean...
This Letter carries out a sensitive (∼5 events/nb) search for narrow p¯p states at the Brookhaven National Laboratory multiparticle spectrometer. No evidence is found such in mass range 1900-2400 MeV/c2 reaction π−p→pπ−p¯p 16 GeV/c. In particular, 2020 and 2200 previously reported CERN Ω-spectrometer experiment are not observed.Received 19 August 1980DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevLett.45.1611©1980 American Physical Society
In an $11.0\ensuremath{-}\frac{\mathrm{GeV}}{c} {\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}p$ exposure in the BNL 80-in. hydrogen-filled bubble chamber, 171 events have been found that fit reaction ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}+p\ensuremath{\rightarrow}4{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}+3{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}+{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}+p$. The ISIS spallation neutron source has been running successfully for more than 15 years and at 160 kW remains the most powerful of its kind in world. With machines due to operate or near megawatt level under construction United States Japan expected come on line within next decade, advances Europe have not progressed same rate. A positive decision European Spallation Source (ESS) looks unlikely one is led consider feasibility alternative options. An upgrade such possibility. current...
${{\ensuremath{\Xi}}^{*}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ production was studied in the reaction ${K}^{\ensuremath{-}}+p\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{{K}^{+}}_{\mathrm{slow}}+{X}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ at 5 GeV/c. The slow ${K}^{+}$ electronically detected, while ${X}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ observed as a missing mass, thus allowing for observation of all ${\ensuremath{\Xi}}^{*}$ independent decay mode. $\ensuremath{\Xi}$ states were $\ensuremath{\Xi}(1320)$, $\ensuremath{\Xi}(1530)$, $\ensuremath{\Xi}(1820)$,...

The transverse momentum dependent (TMD) soft function and Collins-Soper (CS) kernel may be obtained by formulating the Wilson line in terms of auxiliary one-dimensional fermion fields on lattice. Our computation takes place region lattice that corresponds to "spacelike" Minkowski space order obtain Collins function. matching our result is achieved through mapping field directional vector rapidity. In Euclidean space, this complex, having a purely imaginary time component. We present some...
