Composition modification and surface microstructures have been widely utilized in interface science to improve the performance. In this paper, we observed a significant improvement of oil contact angle (CA) from 66 ± 2° 120 4° by introducing radical silanol group on flat PDMS through oxygen plasma pretreatment. By combining modification, produced three kinds superoleophobic surfaces: 20 μm pitch micropillar arrays, 2.5 arrays gecko foot-like hierarchical microstructures. Among them, with...

Biomimetic surfaces are attracting more and research attention because of the amazing characteristics living biological species, such as iridescence in flowers hibiscus trionum tulipa, superhydrophobicity on lotus leaf. Despite numerous efforts for producing fascinating micro-nanostructures that present either or superhydrophobicity, there is almost no reports artificial posses both simultaneously apart from a few examples self-organized colloidal particles. Here, we report bio-inspired...

Combination of top-down and bottom-up process is crucial for fabricating ordered complex micronanostructures. Here we report a simple, rapid, versatile approach to demonstrate this useful concept, which involves the joint use multibeam interference patterning capillary force self-organization. Regular hydrophobic arrays four-peddle nanoflowers consisting bent needles with 300 nm tip diameters are readily produced. A “domino model” based on balance support forces were proposed interpret...

In order to conduct Non - Destructive stress wave velocity measurement for Young's modulus on existing wooden buildings, we improved the conventional test by comparative studying other material methods, designing an assistant device test, proposing corresponding operating method and calculating modulus. Besides, effectiveness common used corrective value has been doubted, result of verified. could be obtained changing distance between sensors without using data.

This paper demonstrates an unconventional gas pumping method using a circulation of liquid without leaking issues. Low surface tension is employed as actuating piston to achieve effective with leak-tight sealing inside the microfluidic channel. Because excellent wettability piston, inner surfaces channel get completely wetted and any possible tiny leaky spots can be sealed. Gas pockets from intake port move smoothly along creating dead volume. Locally formed nanostructures in enable steady...

Abstract Rock stratification develops widely in unconventional reservoirs, and it increases the non-uniform of reservoir on vertical. The interfacial slip deformation can alter fracture shape when encounters weak or natural fractures, so rock play an important role propagation. In this paper, crack extension experiment about interface is established through three-point bending. digital speckle measurement technology was used order to observe change strain field, near layer, process cracks...

This paper presents a gas pumping technique demonstrating an electrokinetically driven liquid piston, which can provide complete sealing in microfluidic channel by fully wetting the inner surface without leaving any void spots. The piston push or pull gaseous medium very effectively not allowing backflow. Successful leak-tight with zero dead volume has been achieved.
