The new species is the third of genus Victoriopisa from Indian waters.The described Valanthakad mangrove area Vembanad backwater. cusatensis sp. nov differs other by presenting: (1) a characteristic projection at dorsolateral margin peduncle article 2 antenna 1in male while smooth in female; (2) broad, triangular lateral cephalic lobe; (3) posteroventral tooth epimeral plates; (4) presence and subapical spines telson (5) palm gnathopod without any excavations.

The phytoplankton standing crop was assessed in detail along the South Eastern Arabian Sea (SEAS) during different phases of coastal upwelling 2009.
