Abstract The intercropping of legumes with cereals help to achieve sustainable intensification by their mutual complementarity at efficiently using radiation, nutrients, etc. Several studies indicated such beneficial effects on the other component crop however, little research has been conducted quantify subsequent in a cropping system. In this study, effect legume entire system, particularly maize + legume-wheat system was studied. Four intercropped followed wheat were studied for measures...
The north-western region of India is extremely important for food security and has contributed substantially to the country's past agricultural growth. This been possible largely because endowed with good natural resources such as soils water, relatively well developed in respect markets infrastructure. Rice wheat are now commonly grown double-cropping rotation their average productivity varies from 2 5 t/ha. needs be increased meet growing demands due increasing population, urbanization...
A field experiment was conducted at the research farm of Directorate Wheat Research, Karnal (Haryana) during 2007-08 to 2009-10 with objective compare whole basal and split application nitrogen under different residue management tillage options in rice-wheat cropping system. Combined analysis data revealed that puddled transplanted rice produced maximum grain yield, straw thousand weight grains /panicle. Rice yield zero decreased tune 27.8% (with residue), 33.9% (without residue) 45.3%...
Moisture stress is a major constraint in productivity across the wheat growing zones of India. Climate change and uneven rainfall further aggravate situation under moisture environments. Wheat genotypes capable giving increased yield broad range optimal sub-optimal water availability are considered desirable. This study was undertaken to evaluate various selection indices their applicability identifying drought tolerant which can adapt stressed environments different India i.e., North...
Effective water management is crucial for maintaining health and productivity of fruit crops by addressing challenges posed soil pathogens. The presence pathogens can lead to significant crop losses decreased yield quality. Implementing appropriate strategies the use advanced irrigation technologies enable precise application reduce risk pathogen proliferation. Factors such as foliage wetness duration, moisture, environmental conditions play pivotal roles in various disease cycles, including...
Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed think and act like humans. These designed perform tasks typically require intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, language translation. AI technologies include machine learning, which enables computers learn from experience improve their performance over time without being explicitly programmed, deep uses neural networks process complex patterns...
The study was set about in the state of Haryana to gauge knowledge and adoption level drip irrigation system (DIS) cotton crop amongst farmers. research highlighted that more than two-thirds farmers (68.33%) had a high DIS. socio-economic factors such as family income, size landholdings, exposure mass media, education status respondents were significantly correlated with overall levels DIS by On whole, concentrated efforts are call hour increase micro techniques on wider scale.
Insect pests, diseases, nematodes and weeds constitute major biotic stresses in crop production systems inflicting 15 to 25% or more yield losses. Adverse effects of pesticides can be countered through adoption integrated pest management (IPM), which emphasizes harmonious use safer environment friendly methods suppression. IPM works on the premise that all population levels are not injurious crops. It is a knowledge intensive decision based activity requires tools techniques for its...
The foundation of any structure corporate governance is disclosure. Various committees constituted in different countries, the wake major failures, scandals and financial irregularities parts world have resulted codes best practices guidelines. present paper studies relationship between company attributes extent disclosures. study based on secondary data from 100 selected BSE listed companies. An ‘Index disclosure’ consisting 85 items was constructed. Linear Regression Equation has been used...
The application of N at recommended or higher dose (33% than recommended) effectively enhanced the growth and yield rice crop by suppressing weed in zero-till transplanted rice. Hand weeding thrice 25, 55 75 days after transplanting (DAT) was best reducing ultimately increased grain Among herbicidal methods, tank mix bispyribac-Na + 2,4-D minimized early stage yield.
Experiments were conducted to evaluate effect of planting date rice on brown planthopper incidence at the ICAR- Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi during kharif 2016 and 2018. The results revealed that first (5–8 July) significantly reduced pest followed by second (18–23 maximum was observed in third (5–7 August). Early normal thus can avoid higher BPH infestation, thereby preventing avoidable yield loss.
