Two-dimensional conformal field theories exhibit a universal free energy in the high temperature limit T → ∞, and spectrum Cardy regime, Δ ∞. We show that much stronger form of universality holds with large central charge c sparse light spectrum. In these theories, is at all values temperature, microscopic matches entropy for $$ \Delta \ge \frac{c}{6} . The same true three-dimensional quantum gravity; therefore our results provide simple necessary sufficient criteria 2d CFTs to behave...
Abstract We implement a new isoprene oxidation mechanism in global 3‐D chemical transport model (GEOS‐Chem). Model results are evaluated with observations for ozone, products, and related species from the International Consortium Atmospheric Research on Transport Transformation aircraft campaign over eastern United States summer 2004. The achieves an unbiased simulation of ozone boundary layer free troposphere, reflecting canceling effects recent updates chemistry, bromine HO 2 loss to...
The plants Salix viminalis L. (common osier) and Thlaspi caerulescens J. Presl & C. have been studied often because of their high potential to extract heavy metals from soils. soil properties favoring this phytoextraction are not yet fully known. In study we compared three frequently used single-extracting agents (NaNO3, diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid [DTPA], ethylenediaminetetra-acetic [EDTA]) with a sequential extraction procedure describe changes in the different Cd, Cu, Zn pools...
Modular invariance strongly constrains the spectrum of states two dimensional conformal field theories. By summing over images modular group, we construct candidate CFT partition functions that are invariant and have positive spectrum. This allows us to efficiently extract constraints on imposed by invariance, giving information goes beyond Cardy growth asymptotic density states. Some gaps size (c-1)/12, proving this smaller consistent with invariance. We also revisit function pure Einstein...
The hypothesis that every theory of quantum gravity in AdS_3 is a dimensional reduction string/M-theory leads to natural conjecture for the density states two CFTs with large central charge limit. We prove this 2D which are orbifolds by permutation groups. In particular, we characterize those groups give well-defined N limits and can thus serve as holographic duals bulk theories AdS_3. then show dual orbifold will have Hagedorn spectrum This evidence that, within landscape, semi-classical...
We introduce a test setup for the extraction of unique identifiers and random bits using DRAM. By utilizing standard 512 MByte DDR3 modules, 400 bit/s can be generated are extracted. show that DRAM used as physically unclonable function. In contrast to SRAM-based PUF, PUF allow repeated operations without disconnecting supply voltage while still remaining fully functional normal storage operations.
We compute genus two partition functions in dimensional conformal field theories at large central charge, focusing on surfaces that give the third Rényi entropy of intervals. We this for generalized free and symmetric orbifolds, compare it to result pure gravity. We find a new phase transition if theory contains light operator dimension ∆ ≤ 0.19.This means particular unlike second entropy, one is no longer universal.
We analyze how deforming symmetric product orbifolds of two-dimensional $\mathcal{N}=2$ conformal field theories by an exactly marginal operator lifts higher spin currents present at the orbifold point. find on one hand that these are universally lifted regardless underlying CFT. On other details lifting surprisingly non-universal, with dependence central charge CFT and specific in use. In context AdS/CFT correspondence, our results illustrate mechanism which stringy spectrum turns into a...
Abstract. Phytoextraction is the remediation of heavy metal contaminated soils using plants that take up metals. Hyperaccumulating such as Thlaspi caerulescens are often studied for their possible use decontamination Cd and Zn rich soils, but few field trials have been reported, although they necessary to validate results hydroponic pot studies. This article reports data T . grown on a calcareous an acidic soil, both 20 years ago by either atmospheric depositions or septic‐tank wastes....

A bstract The Gepner model (2) 4 describes the sigma of Fermat quartic K3 surface. Moving through nearby moduli space using conformal perturbation theory, we investigate how weights its fields change at first and second order find approximate minima. This serves as a toy for mechanism that could produce new chiral possibly rational CFTs.

The influence of closed string moduli on the D-brane space is studied from a worldsheet point view. Whenever cannot be adjusted to an infinitesimal change background, corresponding exactly marginal bulk operator ceases in presence brane. perturbation then induces renormalization group flow boundary whose end-point describes conformal perturbed theory. We derive relevant equations general and illustrate phenomenon with number examples, particular radius deformation free boson circle. At...
