The topmost 16 metres of the loess section at Xifeng (central Chinese plateau), which cover last 128000 years, consist two palaeosol beds interlayered by a horizon.Hysteresis parameters, frequency-dependent, field-and temperaturedependent susceptibility show very similar and stable magnetic mineral constituents in both samples. The concentration grain size magnetite, maghaemite haematite control properties loess.Susceptibility thickness are closely related to geographic position (present)...
1848 specimens were collected systematically from about 900 horizons in the loess profile of Xifeng, Gansu province, China. The magnetostratigraphy is established on basis palaeomagnetic results after thermal cleaning, usually at 300°C. This result has been found to be generally consistent with previous work Luochuan. susceptibility varies regularly appearance and palaeosol thus could used as a criterion classify sequence.
Abstract Forest litter inputs to soil can stimulate the decomposition of older organic matter (SOM) via a priming effect (PE). The magnitude and underlying mechanisms driving PE are poorly understood, with especially little know about how quality site conditions affect in situ. Further, very few studies have examined tropical subtropical soils. Here, we established low high elevation sites (600 vs. 1,400 m a.s.l.) Wuyishan National Park, China, that differed respect mean annual temperature...
Abstract Hydrogels are widely used in tissue engineering, soft robotics and wearable electronics. However, it is difficult to achieve both the required toughness stiffness, which severely hampers their application as load‐bearing materials. This study presents a strategy develop hard tough composite hydrogel. Herein, flexible SiO 2 nanofibers (SNF) dispersed homogeneously polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) matrix using synergistic effect of freeze‐drying annealing through phase separation, modulation...
Measurements of specimens from the loess profile Xifeng, Gansu province, China, all show original magnetic fabric for sediments, i.e. nearly horizontal foliation and commonly oblate magnitude ellipsoid. The degree anisotropy always shows a strong correlation with F rather than lineation L. Specimens wind-blown loess, redeposited water-lain red clay their own distribution areas respectively in diagram L versus F. Magnetic provides evidence suggestion that clay, like overlying is aeolian...
Loess–palaeosol sequences preserve the most significant continental record of climatic and environmental changes during Quaternary available for scientific study. The Eurasian loess belt in particular could be regarded as one important terrestrial records on a global scale. Preliminary stratigraphical correlation has determined that sections south-east Europe China have, perhaps surprisingly, shown many similarities. Unfortunately, these sites, due to their economic (e.g. agriculture...
Magnetotactic bacteria (MTB) use passive alignment with the Earth magnetic field as a mean to increase their navigation efficiency in horizontally stratified environments through what is known magneto-aerotaxis (M-A). Current M-A models have been derived from MTB observations aqueous environments, where >80% inclined lines produces one-dimensional search for optimal living conditions. However, of most widespread environment, i.e. sediment, has recently found be <1%, greatly reducing or even...
