Plant test systems are a sensitive way to detect the genetic effects of various contaminants in environmental compartments: water, soil and sediments. Biotesting genotoxicity samples with activity concentrations naturally occurring (226Ra, 232Th, 40K) artificial (137Cs) radionuclides soil, from territory Aragats Massif (Armenia) was carried out application Tradescantia micronucleus (Trad-MСN) stamen hair mutation (Trad-SHM) bioassays (clone 02) model test-object – plant system. Undisturbed...
Environmental risk factors have been shown to alter DNA copy number variations (CNVs). Recently, CNVs described arise after low-dose ionizing radiation in vitro and vivo. Development of cost- size-effective laser-driven electron accelerators (LDEAs), capable deliver high energy beams pico- or femtosecond durations requires examination their biological effects. Here we studied impact LDEAs on known CNV hotspots human peripheral blood lymphocytes single cell level. chromosomal regions 1p31.1,...
The ability of the SARS-CoV-2 virus to cause DNA damage in infected humans requires its study as a potential indicator COVID-19 progression. was studied leukocytes 65 patients stratified by sex, age, and disease severity relation demographic, clinical, laboratory parameters. In combined group patients, shown be elevated compared controls (12.44% vs. 5.09%,
Translocation of mtDNA in the nuclear genome is an ongoing process that contributes to development pathological conditions humans. However, causal factors this biological phenomenon human cells are poorly studied. Here we analyzed insertions lymphocytes after vitro treatment with doxorubicin (DOX) using a fluorescence situ hybridization (FISH) technique. The number positively correlated DOX-induced micronuclei, suggesting chromosome breaks contribute insertion events. Analysis odds ratios...
The energy spread of the electron beam in storage ring is one most important parameters that define linear and nonlinear dynamics ring. It especially for advanced rings operating femto-slicing or low alpha operation modes where dispersive effects are essential part physics. In this paper rms measurement based on analysis transverse decoherence signal kicked studied. numerical results particle tracking simulation CANDLE project SLS discussed.
Advanced Research Electron Accelerator Laboratory (AREAL) is an electron linear accelerator project with a laser driven RF gun being constructed at CANDLE Synchrotron Institute. After the successful operation of section 5 MeV, program facility energy enhancement up to 50 MeV launched. In this paper current status existing diagnostic and control systems, as well results beam parameter measurements are presented. The approaches intended systems for upgrade also described.
Application of laser-generated electron beams in radiotherapy is a recent development. Accordingly, mechanisms biological response to radiation damage need be investigated. In this study, telomere length (TL) as endpoint genetic was analyzed human blood cells (leukocytes) and K562 leukemic irradiated with ultrashort beam. Metaphases interphases were quantitative fluorescence situ hybridization (Q-FISH) assess TL. TLs shortened compared non-irradiated controls both settings (metaphase...
In the current paper numerical simulation results for parallel (decoupled) operation of SASE1 and SASE3 undulator sections European XFEL are presented. The study was based on idea betatron switcher implementation. It shown that it is possible to avoid energy spread growth in reach saturation desirable range radiation wavelengths by a trajectory kick before its correction SASE3.
Recently developed low emittance lattice of CANDLE storage ring was suffering from the typical issue complicated nonlinear beam dynamics resulting in lowered dynamic and momentum apertures. In order to improve these characteristics new lattice, an optimization dynamics, by usage multi-objective particle swarm algorithm, performed. Two scenarios, with different number objectives, were considered. This paper presents main aspects results conducted procedure.
The endosymbiotic hypothesis suggests that mitochondria were free-living organisms colonized another cells, and millions of years co-evolution resulted in the transfer a large number genes from to nucleus. Recent studies indicate this is an ongoing process can be due impact cells DNA damaging agents, e.g. radiation or chemical mutagens. Here we demonstrate cytogenetically visible mitochondrial translocation into interphase nuclei genome human blood lymphocytes identified via fluorescence...
