Temporary ponds are seasonal wetlands annually subjected to extreme and unstable ecological conditions, neither truly aquatic nor terrestrial. This habitat its flora have been poorly studied documented because of the ephemeral character flora, changeable annual weather that has a great effect on small, herbaceous taxa declining abundance temporary ponds. Abstract Questions Species–area relationships (SARs) are fundamental for understanding biodiversity patterns and generally well described by a power law with constant exponent z . However, ‐values sometimes vary across spatial scales. We asked whether there is general scale dependence of at fine grains which potential drivers influence it. The mild climate of the central west coast Portugal has made it predisposed to exotic plants becoming established and eventually invasive in natural macchia vegetation. Here we record occurrence 34 succulents, representing eight families, as forming part alien flora region. Twenty these are naturalised 14 casuals. Five taxa succulent that widely cultivated also catalogued, given propensity become pests. Most succulents illustrated ease identification.

Coastal areas and other saline environments are major contributors to regional global biodiversity patterns. In these environments, rapidly changing gradients require highly specialized plants like halophytes. European coastal cliff-tops, rocky sandy seashores, saltmarshes, typical halophytes from the genus Limonium commonly found. Among them, aneuploid tetraploid (2n = 4x 35, 36, 37) multiflorum, endemic west coast of Portugal, is an interesting case study for investigating ecology...
