Summary To estimate near-surface shear-wave velocities (Vs) in Chuncheon, Korea, passive surface-wave data were recorded at 42 sites using four portable earthquake seismographs and a 24-channel engineering seismograph. We propose a method to change the effective interaction between two fluids by modulation of their local density distributions with external periodic potentials, whereby mixing properties can be controlled. This is applied mixture dilute bosonic gases, and binodal spinodal curves emerge in phase diagram.
