This paper proposes a robust exemplar-based image inpainting algorithm using region segmentation. Exemplar-based methods iteratively search the source and fill missing or damaged region, i.e., target with most similar patch in region. The proposed method uses segmentation map to improve performance of inpainting, which is used utilize spatial information With map, automatically selects parameter values priority function, adaptively determines size, reduces Experimental results number test...

Abdominal strengthening exercises are important for stroke patients; however, there is a lack of research on therapeutic increasing abdominal muscle activity in patients. We investigated the effects non-paretic arm using tubing band patients. In total, 18 hemiplegic subjects (13 males, 5 females) were recruited. All performed involving three different shoulder movements (extension, flexion, and horizontal abduction) an elastic band. Surface electromyography (EMG) signals recorded from rectus...

Abstract Most antibiotic-resistance genes (ARGs) evolved in environmental microbes long before humanity’s antibiotic breakthrough, and widespread use expedited the dissemination of ARGs among clinical pathogens. While widely discussed, investigation ARG distributions lacks scalability taxonomic information necessary for a comprehensive analysis. Here, we present global distribution all five classes β-lactamases environments. We generated β-lactamase taxonomy-environment map by identifying...

Previously developed colonoscopes have difficulties on performing diagnosis procedure since it can be performed by experienced endoscopists only to control the device efficiently. Therefore, in this paper, we presented a robotic colonoscope applying rotating elastic caterpillars, enabling self-locomotion colon The locomotion performance of robot is obtained adopting three-caterpillar-driving system and also center well. Comparing with conventional stiff cable, composed thin-flexible electric...

Abstract Over the course of evolution, proteins families undergo sequence diversification via mutation accumulation, with extant homologs often sharing less than 25% identity. The resulting diversity presents a complex view sequence-structure-function relationships, as epistasis is prevalent, and deleterious mutations in one protein can be tolerated homologous sequences through networks intramolecular, compensatory interactions. Understanding these epistatic crucial for understanding...
