In the present investigation, chitosan/polypyrrole composite (CS/PPy) was synthesized and used as an adsorbent for first time to remove Cr(VI) ions from aqueous solution. The CS/PPy characterized using FTIR, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy energy dispersive analyzer, BET. Batch equilibrium experiments were carried out optimize various parameters water treatment process. optimized conditions revealed that adsorption of onto highly pH dependent. maximum removal capacity 78.61...

The polyaniline composite composed of 0.2 mol L−1 aniline and 2% w/v polyvinyl alcohol was prepared by in situ polymerization technique. When this polyaniline/polyvinyl (PANI/PVA) used as an adsorbent, it removes Cr(VI) ions from water effectively. Further investigations using FTIR, SEM-EDX, XRD reveal that has a unique structure morphology, which favors higher ion adsorption with the maximum sorption capacity 111.23 mg Cr(VI)/0.1 g adsorbent. Subsequently, results batch system suggest...

Silica scaling of membranes used in reverse osmosis desalination processes is a severe problem, especially during the brackish groundwater due to high silica concentrations. This problem limits water supply inland arid and semiarid regions. Here, we investigated influence surface-exposed organic functional groups on precipitation scaling. A test solution simulating mineral content brine at 75% recovery was used. The mass chemical composition precipitated monitored using quartz crystal...

Abstract Highly porous poly(2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (PHEMA) microspheres prepared by suspension polymerization of 2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) in presence polymeric diluents such as poly(methyl (PMMA) toluene and poly(tetramethylene glycol) (PTMG) were made radiopaque esterification the reactive hydroxyl groups with iothalamic acid iopanoic acid, two substances clinically used. Of various solvents catalysts examined, tetrahydrofuran (THF) N,N′‐dimethyl paratoluidine (DMPT) found...

In photodynamic therapy (PDT), photosensitisers (PS) are used along with lasers for the treatment of tumors. The combined effect and on wound healing process is studied using δ-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) (5 mg/kg) hematoporphyrin derivative (HPD) as in open excision wounds rats. were He-Ne laser (3 J/cm 2 ) Nd: YAG (30 ). This study important understanding involved after PDT. Open treated animals that received ALA photosensitiser showed complete closure at earliest by 13 ± 1 days, results...

In this study, chitin (Ch) was made composite with polyaniline (PANI) and used for the removal of Pb(II) Cd(II) ions from aqueous solution. Characterization techniques such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope, energy-dispersive X-ray analyser diffraction were employed to characterize prepared PANI/Ch composite. Influence various equilibrium parameters on adsorption onto investigated. The process followed Freundlich isotherm model, calculated maximum...
