This report describes the steps in development of an accreditation system for medical universities Islamic Republic Iran. The national project, supported by government, was performed from 2001 to 2005. project carried out 3 main phases, each phase including a number tasks. After review international literature on and through consensus, set institutional standards developed, 95 504 indicators 10 areas.
