A series of plumbagin derivatives (4a−4k) containing an amino acid moiety were synthesized under mild esterification conditions in excellent yields (35%−80%) and screened for their antifeedant activities tobacco caterpillar (Spodoptera litura) castor semilooper (Achaea janata) using a no-choice laboratory bioassay. The parent compound lacked significant activity, but the analogues effective reducing feeding by two insect species. introduction N-acetyl-l-amino side chain to Michael adduct at...
The present study emphasizes synthesis and bioprofiling of embelin, embelin-metal (EM) embelin-azo-metal (EAM) complexes in detail. EM were prepared using pure embelin d-block transition elements, namely Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn. Similarly, EAM synthesized phenyl azo-embelin with the said metals. Embelin, EM, subjected to ultra violet visible spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared nuclear magnetic resonance, electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, thermogravimetric analysis, carbon...
The vapor-phase toxicity of Derris scandens Benth.-derived constituents was evaluated against four stored-product pests (Callosobruchus chinensis L., Sitophilus oryzae Rhyzopertha dominica and Tribolium castaneum H.) using fumigation bioassays compared to those commonly used insecticides. structures all were characterized by spectroscopic analyses [nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) mass spectrometry]. sensitivity the test insect compounds varied with exposure time, concentration, species....
The focus of the review is on formation multiple bonds by palladium catalyzed C-H activation and functionalization. These include alkanylation, alkenylation, arylations, annulations, domino, cascade reaction, coupling synthesis spiro compounds. non-synchronous new carbon-carbon carbon-heteroatom (N, O) for construction various heterocycles also discussed. Keywords: activation, Non synchronous Multiple-bond formation, Palladium catalysis, Coupling reactions, Domino Heterocycles.
Several natural piper amides and their mimics were synthesized by developing a new strategy of amide formation. The tested against both gram +ve -ve bacterial strains found that they are particularly more active Staphylococcus aureus Chromobacterium violaceum strains.
