Transdisciplinary research and collaboration is widely acknowledged as a critical success factor for solution-oriented approaches that can tackle complex sustainability challenges, such biodiversity loss, pollution, climate-related hazards. In this context, city governments' engagement in transdisciplinarity generally seen key condition societal transformation towards sustainability. However, empirical evidence rare. This paper presents self-assessment of joint project on ecosystem services...

A depletion of the stratospheric ozone layer would result in an increased UV‐B radiation, which could have harmful effects on marine organisms. While ecosystem-based planning approaches are increasingly promoted through international and national policies, municipalities still struggling with translating them into practice. Against this background, paper aims to increase the knowledge of current advances possible ways support implementation ecosystem services (ES) approach at municipal level. The phototactic orientation in Gyrodinium dorsum and G. aureolum has been analyzed. Both species show only positive phototaxis with an optimum at about 300 W-m−2. mechanism of photoorientation does not seem to be based on a dichroic the photoreceptor pigments as flagellate Euglena gracilis. Photobleaching experiments have shown far higher resistance toward continuous irradiation even high fluence rates than other flagellates which is good agreement exclusive behavior phototaxis.
