This paper presents a biodegradation study conducted for 90 days under standardized controlled composting conditions of poly (lactic acid) (PLA) filled with functionalized anatase-titania nanofiller (PLA/TiO2 nanocomposites). The surface morphology, thermal properties, percentage biodegradation, and molecular weight changes at different incubation times were evaluated via visual inspection, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential calorimetry (DSC), gel...

ABSTRACT Photodegradable poly(lactic acid) (PLA)/titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) nanocomposites could be utilized as an eco‐friendly material. The photocatalytic degradation was investigated under accelerating artificial ultraviolet irradiation conditions for the period up to 100 days according GB/T16422.3/ISO 4892.4. change of surface color, gloss loss, morphology, weight intrinsic viscosity, chemical structure, mechanical properties at different times were verified via solid reflection...

A widespread belief among scholars and connoisseurs of the Japanese color woodblock print (nishiki-e) holds that synthetic dyes were imported from West in 1860s, soon came to be used for all nishiki-e colorants during Meiji period. These "cheap aniline dyes" are widely described as "gaudy", "garish", "strident", thought stand sharp contrast more muted "natural" preceded them. This study calls this narrative into question through an analysis 1860 until 1900, using surface-enhanced Raman...

This study investigated ageing-resistant properties of carboxyl-terminated polyester (polyethylene glycol terephthalate) composites modified with nanoscale titanium dioxide particles (nano-TiO2). The nano-TiO2 was pretreated by a dry coating method, aluminate coupling agent as functional grafting additive. agglomeration resistance evaluated, which exhibited significant improvement for the nanoparticles. Then, effects on crosslinking and were studied. With real-time Fourier transform infrared...

A multi-analytical investigation of Japanese woodblock prints ranging in date from 1864 to 1895 and covering essentially the time span between very end Edo period middle Meiji showed a widespread use arsenic sulfides for yellow green colored areas (the latter obtained by mixing Prussian blue sulfides). Analysis optical microscopy, X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, Raman Scanning Electron Microscopy confirmed that pigment is usually compound belonging solid solution series (As8S8)–(As8S9). The...

The ancient technique employed to produce Lajian paper—a very famous Chinese traditional handmade paper—has been lost. However, widespread restoration of the skills used in paper’s production is emerging China. A small piece orange-red paper dating from Qing dynasty and decorated with flecked Ag Au was chosen as subject this study investigate composition structure using optical microscopy (OM), SEM–EDS, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Raman spectroscopy, FTIR spectroscopy. results...

To study the life expectancy and difference in aging resistance properties of different modern repair bamboo papers, hydrothermal/dry-heat ageing experiments on paper samples were conducted. The mechanical strength (tensile folding endurance) papers during process analyzed. Furthermore, chemical (degree polymerization pH) tested to search for immanent cause ageing. results indicated that ability durability are strongly related their production process, which corresponds with initial paper....

Abstract Purpose Our goal was to establish the risk factors for recurrent febrile urinary tract infection (F-UTI) in children with duplex collecting system (DCS). Methods Patients seen DCS from 2010 2020 were retrospectively followed. Those using continuous low dose antibiotic prophylaxis (CAP) and incompletely duplicated systems removed study. The primary endpoint of this study F-UTI. We conducted univariate analysis 5 factors, namely, gender, affected side (unilateral vs bilateral),...
