The fact that the standard dispersion relation for photons in vacuum could be modified because of their interaction with quantum nature spacetime has been proposed more than two decades ago. A quantitative model [Jacob \& Piran, JCAP 01, 031 (2008)], tested extensively using distant highly energetic astrophysical sources, searching energy-dependent time delays photon arrival times. Since no delay was firmly measured, lower limits were set on energy scale $\Lambda$ related to these effects....

High energy photons from astrophysical sources are unique probes for some predictions of candidate theories Quantum Gravity (QG). In particular, Imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescope (IACTs) instruments optimised astronomical observations in the range spanning a few tens GeV to ∼100 TeV, which makes them excellent search effects QG. this article, we will review QG can be tested with IACTs, most notably Lorentz invariance violation (LIV) and its consequences. It is often represented...

Signal estimation in the presence of background noise is a common problem several scientific disciplines. An ``on/off'' measurement performed when itself not known, being estimated from control sample. The ``frequentist'' and Bayesian approaches for signal on/off measurements are reviewed compared, focusing on weakness former advantages latter correctly addressing Poissonian nature problem. In this work, we devise novel reconstruction method, analysis including single-event likelihoods...

BL Lacertae (BL Lac) is one of the low-frequency peaked Lac object (LBL). Since August 2020, has shown a historically high activity in HE (high-energy, 0.1 GeV < E 100 GeV) gamma-ray and optical bands. The MAGIC (Major Atmospheric Gamma-ray Imaging Cherenkov) telescopes performed joint observations during this flaring period with instruments operating gamma-ray, X-ray, optical, radio bands from to October 2020. In VHE (very- high-energy, > range, was detected several nights an especially...

We present the first search for dark matter (DM) spectral lines in Galactic centre (GC) region with MAGIC telescopes. The telescopes, located on Canary island of La Palma (Spain), are sensitive to gamma rays energy range from 50 GeV TeV. has performed indirect DM searches various astrophysical targets, such as dwarf spheroidal galaxies and clusters galaxies. Observations at high zenith angles significantly increase telescopes' collection area sensitivity TeV regime. results obtained more...

Unlike charged cosmic rays, which are thought to have common origin, gamma not deflected by galactic and intergalactic magnetic fields. Signal estimation in the presence of background noise is a common problem many scientific disciplines. An “On/Off” measurement when itself imprecisely measured, which case for instance observations performed astronomy. We propose new method estimating signal rate based on Bayesian formalism. It uses information single-event variables and their distribution population. Events are thereby weighted according to likelihood being or event suppression can be achieved without performing data...
