This paper exploits the exogenous and differential immigrant supply shocks caused by immigration quota system in 1920s to identify causal effects of restriction on US manufacturing wages, Great Migration, industrial production between 1920 1930. I find that significantly increased wages encouraged southern black population migrate North. also decline constrained growth scale discouraged technology adoption electrification.
