Polypropylene (PP) nanofibres have been electrospun from molten PP using a needleless melt‐electrospinning setup containing rotary metal disc spinneret. The influence of the spinneret (e.g., material and diameter), operating parameters applied voltage, spinning distance), cationic surfactant on fibre formation average diameter were examined. It was shown that used for making had significant effect formation. Although voltage little diameter, distance affected considerably, with shorter...

In this work, nanofibre membranes have been produced from polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polycaprolactone (PCL), polyacrylonitrile (PAN), poly (vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropene) (PVdF-HFP), and polymer blend of PAN polyurethane (PEU) using an electrospinning technique, wound healing performance the as-spun was examined in vivo female Sprague-Dawley rats. To understand nutrition effect, a wool protein coated on PVA PCL nanofibres incorporated into via coelectrospinning solution containing...

Magnetic liquid marbles, an encapsulation of droplet with hydrophobic magnetic particles, show remarkable responsiveness to external force and great potential be used as a discrete microfluidic system. In this study, we presented the manipulation marble under field calculated maximum frictional force, required for actuating marbles effective surface tension marble, well threshold volume transition from quasi-spherical puddle-like shape. By taking advantage unique feature being opened closed...

Abstract Interfacial bonding between fibre and matrix is most critical to obtain enhanced mechanical properties of the resulting composites. Here we present a new surface tailoring method selective wet etching organosilicon monomers (3-(Trimethoxysilyl) propyl methacrylate, TMSPMA) deposition process on short S-Glass as reinforcing material, in increased retention strong chemical glass fibres polymer resin (a mixture triethylene glycol dimethacrylate (TEGDMA) urethane (UDMA) monomers). The...

A phase change material (PCM) from a mixture of plant oils was incorporated into electrospun poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) nanofibers using an emulsion electrospinning technique. Effects PCM and PVA content in the emulsions on nanofiber morphology, heat properties, stability were examined. Higher loadings led to increased fiber diameter, gouged surfaces, higher enthalpies. The fibers maintained their morphological integrity even if melted. They showed reliable heat-regulating performance which...

In this work, a photochromic wool fabric has been prepared by applying photochromic-dye hybrid silica sol-gel onto the surface of fabric. The was found to have very quick optical response. Two types were used as matrix material, and type had small effect only on performance, washing fastness, water contact angle, but affected handle property considerably. from precursor containing long alkyl chain showed little influence better performance than that phenyl group.

Abstract A crosslink‐able elastomeric polyester urethane (PEU) was blended with a thermoplastic, polyacrylonitrile (PAN), and electrospun into nanofibers. The effects of the PEU/PAN ratio crosslinking reaction on morphology tensile properties as‐spun fiber mats were investigated. With same overall polymer concentration (9 wt %), nanofiber containing higher composition PEU shows slight decrease in average diameter, but strength, elongation at break modulus are all improved. These further...

Electrospraying or electrohydrodynamic spraying is a technique of liquid atomisation by utilising electrical forces. In the electrospraying technique, at outlet nozzle subjected to an shear stress maintaining high electric potential. This produces fine mist extremely small and in some cases down nanometer size droplets. The charge droplets can be controlled adjusting flow rate voltage applied nozzle. Extending scope electrospraying, textile substrates coated with suitable polymer solution...
