This study researches the use of ultrasound sludge hydrolysis to do digestion experiments. The data biogas production, chemical oxygen demand (COD) change, pH value, and original concentration were recorded. It was found that COD significantly increased, digester alkaline became 7.6 (the general standard 7.0–7.5), anaerobic time shortened half original. Recommendations for future full-scale operating in which is related ultrasonic-treated should be more than 14.8% have better effect.
This study investigated the properties of long bubbles penetrating viscoelastic fluids in a suddenly contracting and expanding tube. Injection gas flow is controlled by mass controller (MFC). Some dimensionless parameters, such as capillary number (Ca), Reynolds (Re), fractional ratio (m), Weissenberg (Wi), are discussed herein. The experimental results showed that bubble...
A mass flow controller (MFC) was used to control the injection gas amount into volatile organic compounds (VOCs), each having a different evaporation rate, within straight tubes. As moving velocities of air bubbles tube had changed, specific transient response occurred. The shape mushroom bubbles. From experiment results, as rate VOCs ≧ 1, occur Reynolds number (Re) reach certain region. Moreover, shapes were more apparent when volatility solvent higher. < bubble phenomenon did not occur,...
Abstract This paper studies the behavior of second grade viscoelastic fluid past a cavity in horizontal channel. The effects Reynolds number, elasticity and aspect ratio on flow field are simulated numerically. equations converted into vorticity stream function equations. solution is obtained by finite difference method. fluids quite different from Newtonian fluid, due to elasticity. Only one pattern appears when cavity. However, three kinds patterns appear while increasing number 20 300....
The link between customers' requirement and engineering solutions to improve product performance is commonly hard quantify often not obvious. An application of the combination Quality function deployment Taguchi method, as an approach for problem-solving improvement, was proposed design a model, which increase heat transfer rate, decrease power supply. A study on silicon microchannel sink carried out. effect channel height H (A), width (B), thickness substrate (C), enlargement (D), length...
A steady-state boundary layer flow analysis of a non-Newtonian magnetic fluid over shrinking sheet was studied. The thickness and the velocity distribution in were studied under conditions uniform field normal to and/or vertical mass suction across sheet. similarity transformation method used transform governing partial differential equations ordinary equations. shooting with Newton’s algorithm Runge–Kutta integration obtain solutions results showed that variation profiles significant,...
This study investigates steady two-dimensional laminar confined jet flow in the presence of an applied magnetic field. The magnetohydrodynamic equations with format stream function and vorticity formulation fluid are solved numerically. A numerical method was developed by using a first-order upwind scheme at boundaries second-order finite control volume results show that expansion region is moving downstream while channel width Reynolds number increasing. vortex recirculation zone stretched...
In this paper, the penetration of a long bubble through Newtonian fluid in horizontal circular tube is studied by numerical simulation. We simulate evolution asymptotic profiles with an interface-tracking method conservative level set method. The ratio width to radius tube, i.e. λ, dominates not only type flow patterns but also location stagnation point.Three suggested Taylor front bubble, namely complete bypass flow, transient and recirculation are shown graphically. They make good agreement...
The purpose of this research is to investigate the behavior a long bubbles penetrating through viscoelastic fluids in curved tube. injection gas flow controlled by mass controller (MFC). results experiments show that width approaches constant value at location six-diameter upstream from front. A difference variable introduced shifting deviation It shown that, with same fluid viscosity and angle, higher when rate higher. Also, increases proportionally capillary number Weissenberg increase.
