Ferroptosis, a type of oxidative stress cell death, has been implicated in injury several diseases, and treatments with specific inhibitors have shown to protect cells tissues. Here we demonstrated that treatment the nitroxide radical, 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-N-oxyl (TEMPO), prevented ferroptotic death an airborne manner. Other TEMPO derivatives lipophilic antioxidants, such as Trolox ferrostatin-1, also induced by erastin RSL3; however, only exhibited inhibitory activity from...
Omentopexy has improved the treatment of chronic empyema and postpneumonectomy bronchopleural fistula, which otherwise are difficult to manage. However, omentopexy is not effective in some patients. Four 17 patients who underwent our institution between January 1978 March 1994 did respond died. In two patients, a dead space remained after surgery there was insufficient sterilization. one patient, appeared it impossible control infection. The fourth patient had dehiscence anastomosis...
Histological diagnosis of upper gastrointestinal submucosal tumors (SMT) is a prerequisite for selecting the proper therapeutic approach. EUS-FNA has improved evaluation SMT. Endoscopic biopsy by mucosal incision (EBM) diagnostic procedure developed Yokohata et al. The principal aim this study was to examine potential EBM, as an alternative more expensive and technically-demanding EUS-FNA, in diagnosing This retrospective included consecutive series 27 patients (15 males 12 females, mean age...
Abstract Background Autonomic dysreflexia (AD) is an abnormal reflex of the autonomic nervous system normally observed in patients with spinal cord injury from sixth thoracic vertebra and above. AD causes various symptoms including paroxysmal hypertension due to stimulus. Here, we report a case recurrent associated cervical tumor. Case presentation The patient was 57-year-old man. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed intramedullary lesion C2, C6, high Th12 levels. During course treatment,...
To treat advanced furcation area lesions (degrees II and III ) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) , excision therapy such as root amputation hemisection, regenerative GTR, are applied based on the degree of progression. However, in planning comprehensive treatment, it is necessary to determine treatment methods considering relationship with adjacent teeth opposing teeth. In particular, when or hemisection was performed, prosthetic becomes necessary, important obtain good oral hygiene habits appropriate...
Objective: Evaluation of intracranial stent placement by MRI suffers the problems signal artifacts during time-of-flight MRA (TOF-MRA). Therefore, angiographic examination is required for detailed intravascular assessment site. Recently, 3D T1-turbo spin echo (3D-TSE) has been developed evaluation carotid artery placement. We investigated use 3D-TSE imaging method vascular
One hundred and seven patients (145 knees) suffering from osteoarthritis of the knee were treated by shoe-brace with lateral wedge. In 97 knees that difference width medial joint space between at nonbearing bearing time within 2mm, 48 (49.4%) obtained clinical efect. In radiological change over only 6 cases (12.5%) effect 9 them high-tibial osteotomy. The wedge to osteorthritis is considered be effective for 2mm.
Middle term results, over 5 years after surgery, were reported in 8 hips treated by Pelvic Osteotomy (Chiari).Ages of cases at operation 15 old average.Plastic effects for dysplasial acetabular edge satisfactory all cases; radiogram follow-up time, CE angle became to 34.1° from minus 11.0° pre-operation, Sharp 39.8° 54.6° and Acetabular Head Index 97.6% 41.0% average. All patients showed normal range motion good activities daily living. Only one case slightly Trendelenburg limping another...
Six cases of the traumatic quadriplegia with osscification posterior longitudinal ligament were operated. Five treated laminectomy and one case was fused anterior approach. One them incompletely paralysed other complete. Two 6 recovered moderately slightly. The others unchanged.A review these series resulted in needs surgical treatment that adapted on due to minimal trauma, incomplate one.
Birth trauma, particularly femoral fracture, have been rarely found and few are followed up for a long time.We had three babies with fractures treated by Bryant's traction they showed good results.Perfect anatomical reduction was not essential perfect function, because deformities in corrected themselves spontaneously.
Middle term results, over 5 years after surgery, were reported in 15 hips operated with K. Y. M. rotation type total hip prosthesis.Ten showed excellent results; painless gait, normal range of motions and good activities daily living.Troubles had occured hips; fractures the femur by traffic accident 3 hips, wear H. D. P. head 1 cup loosening hip.Revision operation been done to 2 cases traumatic fracture case head.
A rare case of pleomorphic adenoma arising in the maxillary sinus is reported.A 58-year-old man complained pus discharge from oroantral fistula following extraction right second molar.CT scan revealed a mass 30 HU unit suggesting formation post operative cyst. Surgical excision lesion was carred out by Caldwell-Luc i method, and closed. The pathological diagnosis adenoma. patient showed no evidence recurrence tumor for two years postoperativelly.
