Steel of the mild-strength S355J2+N steel grade is most often used for manufacturing carrying sections constructions exposed to fatigue loads. The use high-strength steels, such as S690QL, allows creation structures that are light and simple construct. However, increasing yield strength steels does not result in a corresponding increase resistance. As result, using subjected loading can be major design concern, raising question whether should at all. Most experimental investigations...

Steel structures are designed to operate in an elastic domain, but sometimes plastic strains induce damage and fracture. Besides experimental investigation, a phase-field model (PFDM) emerged as cutting-edge simulation technique for predicting evolution. In this paper, von Mises metal plasticity is modified coupling with PFDM improved simulate ductile behavior of metallic materials or without constant stress plateau after yielding occurs. The proposed improvements are: (1) new variable...

Analysis of a p-n junction with arbitrary value the grading coefficient is conduced. Presented solution linking widely used diode's depletion layer capacitance equation analytically defined impurity doping profile. Derivations are verified against numerical simulations based on finite element method which experimentally prove correctness. Also, analytical expressions for other physical quantities diode, like electric field, charge, potential, space charge region width, follow straightforwardly.
