Abstract Background Intestinal barriers, intestinal flora, and mucosal immunity are the main factors responsible for development of various allergic autoimmune diseases. The aim this study was to investigate relationship between flora children presence type 1 diabetes, determine if gut microbiota could partly explain etiology disease. Methods Fecal analysis done using quantitative cultures on selective non‐selective media with different thermal atmospheric conditions bacterial fungal growth....
The aim of the present study was to determine in vitro phospholipase and protease activities 122 Candida spp. isolated from several anatomically distinct sites healthy adults. C. albicans (66.4%) most frequently glabrata (7.3%), tropicalis (6.3%) kefyr (4.9%) were non-C. Fifty (40.9%) isolates examined positive 64 (52.4%) positive. Forty-three (53.8%) tested producers-however, only a few strains behaved same way. Protease activity detected 46 (56.7%) levels commensal found be lower than...
Background. Asthma is characterized by inflammation and airway hyperesponsiveness, which results in episodic airflow obstruction. A relationship between insulin resistance (IR) has been previously characterized, asthma known to correlate with increasing IR. Thus, we tested whether patients bronchiale exhibited abnormally low glucose tolerance. The aim of this study was compare the occurrence impaired fasting (IFG) tolerance (IGT), two precursors type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM), paired control...
Background: We sought to determine the frequency of toenail onychomycosis in diabetic patients, identify causative agents, and evaluate epidemiologic risk factors. Methods: Data regarding patients’ characteristics were recorded by attending internal medicine clinician. Clinical examinations toenails performed a dermatologist, specimens collected from nails establish onycomycotic abnormality. All analyzed direct microscopy culture. Results: Of 321 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus,...
To assess the prevalence of hepatitis B and C viruses among Turkish patients with type 1 2 diabetes mellitus to determine risk factors affecting in these patient groups. This study included 630 diabetic 314 nondiabetic patients. Serologic testing for anti-hepatitis virus (anti-HCV) HbsAg was done using a third-generation commercial enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, samples positive anti-HCV were confirmed by polymerase chain reaction assay. Diabetic classified status evaluated according...
In this study, we aimed to determine the nasal carriage rate of Staphylococcus aureus and risk factors in hemodialysis (HD) patients. One hundred eighty-four HD patients were evaluated. A second sample was taken from subjects, wipe samples whom isolated as S. aureus. And subjects whose samples' results same deemed carriers.Fifty-two (28.3%) identified carriers. control group, has been found out 14.9% 116 healthy subjects. The isolation statistically significantly high age group 41-61 years....
Urinary tract infection (UTI) is one of the most commonly encountered infections in childhood. It has been demonstrated that preputial sac can act as a reservoir organisms and thus responsible for causing ascending UTIs. This study was performed to determine presence flora different age groups. Prepuce urine samples were taken simultaneously from 92 uncircumcised healthy male children aged between 0 - 12 years. The data analyzed by age, with 47 subjects 6 years or less, 45 7 Twenty-seven...
Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the distribution uropathogens causing community-acquired urinary tract infections in Düzce, and their antimicrobial susceptibility patterns. Material Methods: conducted prospectively Düzce University Medical Faculty between July 2004-June 2006 included outpatients. Identification microbial growth determination by Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion technique were performed according Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute. Results: In total, 702...

Summary Familial Mediterranean fever is an autosomal recessive disease characterized by periodic attacks of and polyserositis, while Hashimoto's thyroiditis the most common cause hypothyroidism. We suggest that autoimmune mechanisms may underlie both disorders, describe their clinical co-existence in a patient, discuss possible causal link between them.
