We report temperature-induced tuning of whispering gallery mode (WGM) laser emission from a Rhodamine-B-doped polymethylmethacrylate hollow optical fiber. Lasing studies on dye-doped fibers with different radii were carried out pumping using Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. The observed lasing modes confirmed as WGM high quality factor 7.58×103. diameter-dependent variation in spectra these was investigated. A range 0.44 nm sensitivity 0.011 nm/°C obtained for the by varying temperature 25°C to 60°C...

To determine the effects of speed erythrocyte membrane chloride shift on pulmonary gas transfer, CO2 exchange and kinetics pH equilibration were measured with isolated rat lungs perfused 20% suspensions human erythrocytes. The ventilated room air, inflowing perfusate blood gases similar to those in mixed venous vivo. All experiments performed at 37 degrees C. Rates excretion determined by measuring fraction expired a steady state. time-course extracellular effluent was downstream stopflow...

SUMMARY: Aqueous extracts of Aerobacter sp. and Escherichia coli have been found to cause excystment viable sterile cysts Schizopyrenus russelli. The factors which are thermostable. With the aid paper partition chromatography aqueous extract sp., it has that part excystment-inducing activity is due presence amino acids, some identified. Amino sugars, purines, pyrimidines, nucleosides, nucleotides organic phosphates tested for their ability induce excystment. It acids a few can effect pH,...

A fiber optic sensing system for the detection of adulteration virgin olive oil by less expensive sunflower is presented. The fundamental principle sensitive dependence resonance peaks a long period grating (LPG) on changes in refractive index environmental medium surrounding cladding surface grating. performance sensor has been tested monitoring amplitude attenuation bands LPG response to variation level. With good repeatability, limit 4% and sensitivity around 0.07 dB vol%−1 adulterant...

ABSTRACT: The properties of total sarcoplasmic proteins from oil sardine (Sardinella longiceps) have been assessed. Ammonium sulfate fractionation yielded 5 different fractions. UV‐ab‐sorption spectra all fraction showed a peak in the wavelength range 275 to 280 nm indicating aromatic amino acid residues its composition. SDS‐PAGE fractions components molecular weight 97 29 kD. thermal stability temperature 40° 80 °C were varied nature. flow profile indicated pseudo‐plastic behavior and...
