Although many studies have revealed the relationship between built environment and active travel among older adults, limited offer insights into gender differences. Using data from Chiba (Japan), this study employs a random forest method to fill gap by revealing non-linear associations of with time males females, adopts Shapley Additive exPlanations interpret models. Results show that: (1) The dominant contributions are gendered. For example, distance cafe/pachinko contributes more males'...

We report a novel three-dimensional nanoporous TiO2–TiO–TiN (Np-TTT) ternary composite film with cylindrical pores of diameter ϕ30–50 nm and laminated tier thickness 10–30 nm, which was fabricated straightforwardly on Ti foil via one-step anodization in an aqueous nitric electrolyte. The Np-TTT films consisted amorphous TiO2 matrix, quasi-crystalline TiO, small amount TiN (∼2 at% as N), are formed simultaneously during through electrochemical and/or chemical reactions the As binder-free...

We applied a vacuum microwave drying (VMD) process to shiitake mushrooms under different pressure conditions below 20 kPa, and investigated time, hardness rehydration characteristics, extracted guanylic acid, color, sensory evaluation. The samples were subjected treatments at levels of power (25 W/g dry matter, 50 75 matter) absolute pressures (3 10 kPa). VMD reduced time by approximately 13 70 times compared with hot air (HAD). Decreasing the tended soften rehydrated samples, whereas amount...

In most developed countries, the population of elderly and disabled is growing rapidly. These individuals require transportation service suited to their needs. Such may be provided by applying emerging technologies dial-a-ride transit. This research develops a methodology quantitatively evaluate impact paratransit services on traveler’s mode choice behavior. The model explicitly considers availability alternative modes includes latent factors account for taste heterogeneity. Stated...
