Distributed sensing plays an important role in many industrial applications. Sensor arrays consisting of identical ultraweak fiber Bragg gratings can be applied to such scenarios by monitoring the optical spectral response sensors. Yet, spatial resolution, sampling speed, and supported number sensors array are mostly determined interrogation scheme. While dual-optical frequency comb techniques had been successfully demonstrated as a high-resolution spectroscopic technique metrology, it...

This paper presents an innovative and efficient shape-sensing approach for optical fiber Bragg grating (FBG) arrays, employing the dual-comb spectroscopy (DCS) technique demodulation. scheme harnesses power of asynchronous sampling technology, enabling us to achieve high spatial resolution rapid demodulation shape sensing. It accomplishes this by demodulating ultrashort laser pulse signals reflected from gratings positioned at various locations. Our utilizes a single-cavity FBG system array...

A system for realizing shape sensing based on the single-cavity dual-comb spectroscopy technology and a dense all-identical fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensor array is demonstrated. High spatial resolution small measurement error can be realized with proposed system, two-dimensional shaping experiments. This scheme could find applications in real-time monitoring of flexible structures facilitate development novel robotics biomedical devices.
