The attenuation of intracellular production cGMP has been known to be a mechanism nitrate tolerance. A recent in vitro study showed an increase superoxide levels and reduced activation guanylate cyclase tolerant vessels. We investigated the preventive effect antioxidant, vitamin E, on development tolerance. In this double-blind, placebo-controlled study, 24 normal volunteers patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD patients) were randomized receive either E (200 mg TID group) or placebo...
Preeclampsia is a pregnancy-specific syndrome and major cause of maternal mortality. The pathophysiology preeclampsia unknown, no proteome analysis has been reported. We sought to identify proteins associated with using proteomic technique performed two-dimensional electrophoresis (2-DE) on sera from six patients normal pregnant women, followed by comparison the SYPRO Ruby-stained 2-DE profiles. A group overexpressed spots was identified in limited study set. Overexpressed were as clusterin...
BACKGROUND The present study was designed to investigate the intracellular production of cyclic GMP (cGMP) in platelets response nitroglycerin and determine potential clinical value platelet cGMP as an indicator effects nitrate tolerance. METHODS AND RESULTS Platelet levels diameters coronary arteries before 2 minutes after intracoronary injection 200 micrograms were measured 15 patients who had previously received nitrates (nitrates group) 16 not any (no-nitrates group). increased...
Reduced cGMP production caused by increased superoxide has been proposed as a mechanism of nitrate tolerance during continuous therapy. This study was designed to evaluate the effects ascorbate, an antioxidant, on development therapy in patients with congestive heart failure.Twenty failure were randomized receive intravenous infusion nitroglycerin concomitantly placebo (placebo group, n=10) or ascorbate (vitamin C n=10). After baseline measurements obtained, dose titration started at rate...

We constructed a genetic linkage map for the carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus L.) on basis of random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) and simple sequence repeat (SSR) by using resistance-segregating population 134 progeny lines that were derived from cross between ‘Carnation Nou No. 1’ (a breeding line resistant to bacterial wilt) ‘Pretty Favvare’ susceptible cultivar). The consisted 137 RAPD 9 SSR markers. Linkage analysis revealed 124 loci could be mapped 16 groups extended 605.0...
To study the alterations in cardiac function and coronary circulation patients with isolated systolic hypertension (ISH).Ten a history of ISH were studied findings compared those seven normotensive subjects. All had angiographically normal arteries. They underwent catheterization, haemodynamic variables flow velocity measured. also treadmill exercise testing.Left ventricular mass was evaluated by echocardiography. The data obtained using intracoronary Doppler catheter technique. ST-segment...
In 1996 and 1997, the seroprevalence against Leptospira in parturient sows with premature birth or stillbirth from two herds was investigated. three out of four sow serum samples obtained Gunma Prefecture, antibody titers to interrogans serovar copenhageni (M20) were higher than 10,000 (the reciprocal dilution). Furthermore, L. canicola (Hond Utrecht IV) significantly high ranged 1,000 3,000. Chiba confirmed eight 40 sows, greater six them. Significantly icterohaemorrhagiae (RGA) 18...
To assess the arterial stiffness in patients with branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO).Brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (PWV) and ankle-brachial index were measured 10 BRVO (mean age 67.9 +/- 7.5 years) 18 age-matched controls 66.9 6.8 years). The subjects systemic essential hypertension having no lesions. The PWV group was 1,946 254 cm/s which significantly higher than that control (1,688 274 cm/s; p = 0.014, Wilcoxon rank sum test). indexes 1.16 1.15 groups, respectively. There...
Abstract We present two cases of transient abnormal myelopoiesis associated with trisomy 21 that had hypoechoic hepatomegaly during the late fetal period. Fetal chromosomal abnormality and myeloproliferative disorder should be suspected in such cases. Copyright © 2001 International Society Ultrasound Obstetrics Gynecology
Our purpose was to evaluate plasma levels of brain natriuretic peptide (pBNP) and cyclic guanosine monophosphate (pcGMP) in preeclamptic patients controls.Blood samples were obtained from 35 with preeclampsia the same women during subsequent puerperal period. The control group consisted normotensive pregnant women, matched for age, gestational parity. concentrations pBNP pcGMP determined by RIA method. Statistical analysis performed using Mann-Whitney's U test. The level significantly...
Effects on gross behaviour and experimental ulcers of five Steroidal alkaloids pregnane type extracted from Pachysandra terminalis (Buxaceae), which has been used in Ainu's folk medicine for gastrointestinal diseases, were investigated mice. Pachystermine A, pachysamine A epipachysamine produced sedation, tremor clonic convulsions. Pachysandrine spiropachysine induced only mild sedation. The exerted preventive effects gastric lesions by restraint plus water-immersion stress. These results...
Abstract Aim: We aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of midtrimester termination pregnancy using gemeprost in combination with laminaria women who had previously undergone cesarean section not. Methods: Between January 1999 December 2006, we carried out a retrospective study at 12–21 weeks gestation University Tsukuba Hospital. Termination was by three‐step uterine cervical dilation followed vaginal administration 1 mg every 3 h for up four doses over 24 h. Results: A total 173 underwent...
A malignant solitary fibrous tumor arising from the omentum is extremely rare. To our knowledge, this first case of a coexisting with uterine corpus cancer. 62-year-old woman presented to hospital vaginal discharge. Endometrioid adenocarcinoma was diagnosed by endometrial curettage. In addition, solid in front uterus detected following computed tomography and/or magnetic resonance imaging, which suspected be primary (or secondary) omentum. Hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy,...
Abstract Beckwith‐Wiedemann syndrome is an inherited disorder most commonly characterized by prenatal or postnatal overgrowth, macroglossia, omphalocele, unusual earlobe creases, and increased risk of neoplasia. Several reported cases this have been prenatally diagnosed, but no report has described the occurrence in association with a single umbilical artery. We case which sonographic examination demonstrated fetal omphalocele together artery; our diagnosis was confirmed after birth infant....
Visual disturbances occur more frequently during preeclampsia than pregnancy in general, but visual due to cranial nerve palsy are rare. We present the case of a 35-year-old preeclamptic woman with left third and serous retinal detachment. The patient complained disturbance double vision soon after cesarean section. Left detachment were diagnosed by urgent ophthalmologic evaluation. Aneurysm organic brain lesion ruled out diagnostic imaging. By 2 months postpartum, had improved spontaneously.
