One of the most widely recognized features biological systems is their modularity. The modules that constitute are said to be redeployed and combined across several conditions, thus acting as building blocks. In this work, we analyse what extent these blocks reusable compared with those found in randomized versions a system. We develop notion decompositions into phenotypic blocks, which allows them overlap while maximizing number times block reused conditions. Different present whose...
Recently, Trifonov's group proposed a 10-mer DNA motif YYYYYRRRRR as solution of the long-standing problem sequence-based nucleosome positioning. To test whether this generic decamer represents biological meaningful signal, we compare distribution in primates and Archaea, which are known to contain nucleosomes, Eubacteria, do not possess nucleosomes. The is analyzed by mutual information function (MIF) with shifted version itself (MIF profile). We found common features patterns on MIF...

The Data Market Austria (DMA) is an ecosystem of federated data and service infrastructures. It aims at establishing a market platform where assets can be made accessible offered for purchase. To support this, the DMA offers central portal with catalogue search services as well set microservices metadata mapping or enrichment, quality assessment, submission, storage, management, dissemination. relies on blockchain technology to allow network members sharing information about provenance...
Given a set of n binary data points, widely used technique is to group its features into k clusters (e.g.[7]). In the case where < k, question how overlapping are becomes interest. this paper we approach through matrix decomposition, and relate degree overlap with sparsity one resulting matrices. We present analytical results regarding bounds on sparsity, heuristic estimate minimum amount that an exact grouping must have. As shown below, adding new will not alter overlap.
The efficient use of water and soil in complex systems, such as irrigation districts, requires the management large quantities information, forecast algorithms taking decisions a diffuse uncertain environment.
